Hi khialeesi! most of what i read, after your 6 months treatment for tb, you need to undergo sputum test which will take two months for the sputum culture result. the clinic suppose to give you the next steps or the pulmonologist that prescribing you medication.then if the result came up negative, the clinic will give you vaccination shot. why dont you try to call cic.i think their system are sometimes having an error, like what happen to us. my husband was the only one who received medical request. we emailed cic and told us that both of us need to take medical examination. good thing my husband checked his mycic account and saw that i already have UCI number and we gave that to the clinic that undergone my medical examination. they based from my uci if i already have a medical request. after i finished my 3days sputum test, cic emailed to my husband a medical request form without details like name or IME number. its very confusing sometimes. email or call their call centre.
Hi confusewifey, thank you very much for your reply! I am already done with my medication 2 months ago but never received any email so I called the clinic last week to ask what my medical status is and they saw from their system that I still need a follow-up check up and additional labs from them. I don't know who to blame for not informing me ahead, is it the embassy or should it be the clinic's job to inform me about my these additional labs? *sigh* forget about the blaming game. I went to the clinic yesterday and submitted my previous sputum results from outside facilities and they allowed me to have a repeat xray. I am hoping that they will no longer require me a sputum test because my school will already start on feb 1st. I don't think the result would be released before that time. I feel really upset right now

Im not so sure. but i think the reason why they asked you for a repeat xray, was to compare if there are any changes. i think next is you will receive an email, telling you to come and get a vaccination shot. dnt worry, everything will be ok. like what my husband told me. “You did everything you can, so leave it all up to god.” in short, have faith.

Do they accept a skin tb test?? Please advice....really worried:((

Hi all,

My father was asked to go through 3-day sputum test. He will go through the test next week.
I just wanted to ask if anybody has any idea usually what is the probability of having positive result? He had no history of TB or any pulmonary disease.

Realistically how many people who go through this test to ultimately find that it was just a delay of 3-4 months.

Hi. Thank you all for all your support. I would like to ask... After tb treatment and being cleared.. how long is your medical result valid? Is the validity from the last assesment after tb treatment or the initial medical exam before th was detected.

Thank you.

In our case yes, but nothing to worry if he has no TB. Im sharing my journey bcoz during that time im also worried. I even asked the doctor's assurance that my husband will not undergo the 6 mos medication. But at the end, after that everthing went well. We received our visa (me, spouse & 2 kids). By God's grace, we will be there before feb 2018.

Just be hopeful... God has the best plan for you too!

According to the doctors, they need to see the stability of results
According to standard procedures, they see stability of 2 X-rays with 90 days difference .. Were your case more worst?

Not really, my husband had pulmunary condition when he during childhood. No TB.

After the second xray, there are still white/ cloudy portion on his xray result. St Lukes forwarded our pspers tothe embassy. After they received it, i got an email stating that he still need to have another xray ( I guess you know how we felt about it) . There is slways a 3-month interval - feb, may and aug

Hi to all,

My husband diagnosed with TB by st lukes. They asked him to undergo 6 months medication. All his sputum test, sputum culture were negative. They said that his xray result changed from the first one he had.
He don't have any symptoms nor being treated of TB before.
We went to pulmonary specialist to have a second opinion. And the result was negative too.
He go back to st lukes to show his medical certification from the pulmonologist but they refused to listen saying that he still need to undergo 6 months medication. We are devastated as he know he is healthy and had his medical test every year as work as a seaman.
He doesn't want to go for medication. If he got refused because he didn't go for medication. And if ever he wants to reapply again in Canada does it will affect the application because he didn't comply before?
Thank you.

AS I know, when sputum tests are negative and X-ray is stable, then there is no question of white spots/scars etc. This is insane... You should have written query to direct CIC... I mean then whey they are takin sputum tests if X-ray is only tool for diagnosis.. ??
