Even if the person left within the 30-day notice period, if they did not observe the proper procedures at the port, they may still require ARC. The IO is required to consider all of the circumstances of the departure and decide if ARC is needed, that is why for PR applicants the assessment is done in conjunction with the PR application and they are advised if they need to pay the ARC fees.

My husband did all proper procedures and now I feel like the application process for outland sponsorship will be longer cause of this ARC. His PRAA was denied, he purchased his plane tkt brought it back to the officer and showed him the purchase of the tkt. When he arrived at pearson airport he saw the immigration officials who gave him back is passport. When he arrived in jamaica he was questioned by officials and then left the airport. I guess we'll do some calling around because its best I send in the ARC asap just in case

Hello AmiMarin, my husband is already in Canada, because of his work He couldnt spend to much time in Mexico, I sent my passport already waiting my visa office send it back finally we will be together, I cant belive it, as soon as possible I get it I will buy my flight ticket, Really Good Luck I hope you get good news!!!

My husband and I are stuck on where to get one and it has to do with his denied refugee claim so maybe you guys can help me figure out what this document is and how we can get it. Its called "Reasons for Decision and Order - Refugee decision by Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) / Personal Information Form (PIF) any idea what this is and where we get it??

The PIF is the form that was originally completed when the refugee claim was made. Pretty much what was the reason refugee app was filed. How in the world doesnt immigration have access to these forms. But thx for this update i'll have to locate my husbands PIF and I'll see if I should send it off to the visa office abroad

Hello AmiMarin, actually my visa office requested me the same documents , PIF is the document where you explain why you need protection , inmigration read your case from this document to prepare the hiring, I didnt send this document , only the document about decision when it was denied, after hearing , border service send you an envelope with documents, where they explain why your case was rejected, your visa office needs these documents because they cannot access to this information, ask your husband he knows about it, and after when he submitted PRRA the same thing border service send you the reasons why they did not approve it, all these documents you have to send it, only they want to know all the information about refugee case.

Ok. Thank you Yaz...also a question for you....on the Request For Additional Documents that he got today they didnt check off the box for us to pay for the ARC. When did you get a request to pay for the ARC? Did you pay it to the VO or to Mississagua? Do you think I should just try to pay it now so that we dont have to waste another couple of weeks waiting for them to request the payment?

they have to send you ARC request, I dont know if you can do it before, I dont think is bad idea, because like that you can finish with this process fast, reallly I dont know what advice you, they sent me request with instructions to make they payment and write a letter explaining why I want to go back to Canada. but you can email them , asking for, I made the payment for my visa office, with a local bank , I mailed it to them with the letter and thats it!!!

they did not tell yoy anything when you only provided them the piff? i mean can we just gave them the document where it says for the reasons of refusal or do they really need the piff?

yaz our case is similar to yours, my husband applied for refugee and then got denied and then the prra n then got denied and now we did his sponsorship application via outland mexico, until now we just received the aor and request for some documents like quebec selection, 6 photos, his constance de registral etc, im just so scared that what if they dont grant him the arc and also for the waiting time.. im always praying to god to make everything alrite and i cant wait to be with my husband and start our lives together here..

Hello Sad143, Dont worry, everything will be fine, if yourhusband complied with the law in Canada, you dont have any problem.
For sure vo will request you the ARC, because it is a step to continue with the processing of your application, for me it took 2 months to be approved, few days ago I received my passport with the visa stamped, and a ARC approval, when VO request arc, they ask for a letter , on it you have to explain reasons to return to canada, and they payment for ARC, I think Mexico send this letter to Canada, and overthere they take a decision , because this ARC approval is stamped from an office from Canada, when they request ARC , send documents from his refugee case, where you can show he was in all his appoiments, his departure certificate everything what his have about refuge case becase from Mexico they dont have access to this information.
