Hi,

The proof of Medical Insurance can be the copy of the Insurance Policy.
The cost depends on what type of coverage you choose for the policy. Your age, Pr-existing medical condition, Recent medical history, on going medicines etc are correlated with the premium amount.

The best method is that you get an instant free quote online from few insurance companies and choose the best one convenient for you.

The cost varies by age and medical condition and not all insurance carriers have a one year mandatory plan for older ages. I am the principal of Stone-Hedge Financial Group Inc.
and have received a lot of calls for this coverage. I have contracts with Canadian Insurance Carriers that will provide the mandatory insurance coverage for any age.
You can contact me directly at Direct Toll Free 1.888.410.4393 Toronto Local Phone 416.410.4393 or email: gary@stone-hedgefinancialgroup.ca
I will be happy to quote you a price for the Medical Insurance you require.
Thanks

The first post makes a couple of good points about renewing insurance with different providers, but doesn't explain that renewability is also contingent on good health - no matter which company is being used.

Renewability is an important consideration for visitors intending to stay in Canada longer than one year at a time. I'm also an independent travel insurance broker, and I have had a lot of questions from super visa applicants that know they will only want to be in Canada the first time for 4,6 or 8 months, for example. Online at BestQuoteTravelInsurance.ca you'll find more policies than at most other sites (more than kanetix.ca for example, more than pucherinsurance.com...

So looking at a comparable website like BestQuoteTravelInsurance.ca can help you see which deductible options are available to consider using on the travel insurance policy. Why use a higher deductible? It lowers the cost of the policy. A deductible means that you pay the deductible ($100-$500 or higher) before the insurance company would have to pay out under a claim. If the 12 month insurance policy you choose costs $2000, after six months if you return to your home country, you'll get half you policy cost ($1000) refunded as long as no claims have been made under the policy. So even if you buy a $zero deductible plan, if you have a small medicl expense, you may not want to claim it anyway because you'll lose the refund. So it's better to use a deductible, which can lower the policy cost, when you don't plan to use the insurance for the full year.

On the BestQuote website, there's a page of info on 'Super Visa Health Insurance', and you can get a quick quote to see all the top companies in Canada. The site eliminates any companies which won't sell the insurance for a full year, so depending on your quote request, you may only see 3-4 of the 6 companies (soon to be seven or eight) that are currently on the site. Or, you can always email: admin @ bestquotetravelinsurance.ca with some details on travelers dates of birth and dates for the policy, and a quote will be emailed to you.

As an alternate source, please try my site at dfsinc.ca where you can obtain quotes and even purchase your coverage online. You will be emailed a copy of the policy immediately, and have the proof of coverage that you need for the Super Visa Program. info@dfsinc.ca 1-888-933-7462
