Yes they requested additional documents in feb 2016 such as my notice of assessment, employement letter, pay stabs an bank statements plus had to sent a travel history form filled for my husb. And his copy of id.. but after that we haven't heard from vo but I did an mp inquiry and the vo mentioned they r working on security check and to wait till they request us to do remedical...

Hey,
My cousin is an immigration officer in Canada and he advised us to fill out the application on our own as hiring a lawyer/consultant is a waste of money (that if you have a straight forward application, if it is a complicated one then ya make sense to hire a lawyer) and also hiring a consultant/lawyer does not speed up the process. So anyway, we filled it on our own.. who would know better about ur marriage than u and ur spouse .

I'm pretty new to this forum but I thought I would reply to you! I have used Air bnb in Canada, but I have used TripAdvisor and FlipKey when I was visiting my boyfriend - now husband in Sri Lanka. We highly recommend it for various reasons. We find when you book through a travel site they are always very accommodating in hope that you would review them positively in return. We personally prefer using Tripadvisor/ Flipkey because their service charges always seem a little less. We have booked in Colombo/ Hikka etc and I have nothing but great experiences! In comparison to booking with a hotel, it is much more cost efficient and oppose to just getting a room you can even get a whole house to yourself if you'd like and with excellent customer service through the owner generally! I would definitely recommend messaging the owner and clarifying any concerns you may have about the posting before you book it because sometimes if you need to cancel they do charge a fee. Also, keep in mind when you book through these sites, your funds are protected!

They ask for 3 months bank statement actually I attached some of my paystab even though they didnt request

Hi , I been reading the messages here, it is very frustrating how the processing timetables very long..

My mom have sponsored my father March 2014 and we just got a email stating to come for an interview and bring passport, original documents and photos..after contacting the mp and after so many emails

We are happy at same time worried... Because we been hearing the purpose of this interview is for the visa approval also another purpose is to confirm if out application are true or not,..

My question here is if anyone went to face to face interview recently like this month? Or even earlier months And if so what was asked and was the visa issues fast to it took time? When I went through the messages in this site .. But wanted know to have peaceful mind :-[

I'm surprised they asked you for that, thought they looked at the sponsor's employement history and stuff before the app goes to Sri Lanka. And yea every time I ask my MP to inquire about my file they say the same thing. Recently though they said security was done and they moved on to criminality ..

Hey yeah they just want to drag the process I guess and ask for same documents... so my background check went to process in july do you noe when urs went in to process..

apparently they ask alot of ppl resubmit documents that were already submitted to them. Why? I have no clue but I am guessing to delay the process abit. Its easy for them to order us to get same docs over and over guess they have no idea how difficult it is for us.
