Yeah I think it's common for them to ask to bring additional information. What kind of proof did you originally submit with your application? How far away is the interview?

phone bills..skype...n etc... it doesnt say how long... i have no idea... god knows ???

This was posted in CIC website. Will this effect us? :/

Alert – Strike Action
The Professional Association of Foreign
Service Officers (PAFSO) union is
currently taking strike action. PAFSO
union members responsible for
processing visa applications have been
walking out of offices in Canada and
overseas.
Posted processing times for both
temporary and permanent resident
visa applications do not take into
account work stoppages.
Anyone applying for a visa should
anticipate delays and submit their
application as far in advance as
possible.
Contingency plans are already in place
to ensure all offices remain open and
are providing at least a minimum level
of service. Priority will be placed on
urgent humanitarian applications.
CIC continues to closely monitor the
situation.

I saw this from some other posts on here but the feeback people were giving is that it doesn't seem to really affect us, and considering that people are still going in for interviews is a good sign that the Colombo office is running. However I read somewhere where pretty much they are not working past the office hours, which may possibly slow down the process but I guess we all just have to wait and see.

Have you been contacted Smurf since submitting your documents?

Hey guys, I have a question. Theres a girl I met... She was talking abt her process... And her meical expired in may. She submitted docs in june 2012. So, she was saying that her husband told her that she would be in Canada in about 1 or 2 months. Because they were going to pay their lawyer and do something. My question is what is the SOMETHING?? What can they do?? Apparently, they are also paying 2000$ :S
