Processing time for spousal visa - Sri Lanka

i am from Sri Lanka. i have sponsored by my wife on last year ( 2010) and her sponsorship application approved by Mississauga on 08/10/2010. after that i have checked the online status in cic.gc.ca, they mentioned "Decision made" under Sponsorship application status . and "Application received " and "Medical Have been received" under PR Application status. but before that status was "Application not available".... .and also they mentioned they ( Colombo office) received my application on 20/10/2010. but still i did not get any AOR ( acknowledgement of receipt ).i went to colombo embassy two months ago and asked about it they told they can not tell anything as it is in processing period ( 6 month). but now they removed medical have been received message , and appear only "application received".

That "medical result has been received" appears on and off all the time. I dont see it under my status now neither. It was there last week.
I applied in 10/2010 as well. No response from colombo so far. I hope you will get something soon. Good luck.

YAY for more sri lankans on here
Yeah the medicals recieved lines goes off all the time.. Mind has vanished yet again over last week. However this is the second time that this happened... So go figure!
Either way, don't put too much weight on the ECAS status as it is royally messed up
Can you please share your time line with us?
By the way, I didn't recieve AOR either.. Just a Request for Documents letter.

Weekend wasn't good, I had to do some research for my work. So I was home whole weekend.

1) i have completed my medical end of june.
2) and i got my police clearance report on end of august
3) my wife send the sponsor document on mid of September
4) her Sponsorship status approved by Mississauga on 8 of oct 2010
5 ) Sri Lanka embassy got my document on 20 of oct 2010
6) i got a call from Canadian embassy on 20 of nov 2010, and they asked about my religion and my wife religion.
7) until mid of January there is "Decision made ' under sponsorship application status, and "application unavailable" under PR application status.
8) after i went there, end of January, the changed PR application status from "unavailable" to "application received".
9) in second week of February they update 'medical have been received 'message.
10) now they remove that message . still i did not get any AOR.

yes when i went there, they told they can not tell anything until finish processing period , then we have to wait for 6 month again contact them, and they told if they need any document ( if our medical or police report expire ) they will asked them from us and we would have to provide them again , but one of my friend told they can not ask our medical and police report again, if our documents valid until end of processing period. if our our reports expire before end of processing period some time they may ask.
and i ask them that i got a call from them on Nov , then they told they did not call me, then i saw them this is the number which i got the call , and told this you'r office number ,

well the normal processing time once the documents get to colombo is around 6-7 months. that makes the whole PR process 8-9 months. I have been told that they generally give the PR if the medical is about to expire.. But if not they will ask for a new medical. They can do that and it is legal. However the police report they won't ask for because they can conduct their own report internally if i'm not mistaken.
My advice to you is wait until the end of May before you start freaking out Dhana. And if they called you it's probably to ask for those docs. But since they couldnt get thru to you, the sent you a letter instead. I know its hard, but you really have nothing to worry about until May..

that basically means that they check to see ur docs are ok. like certficates, forms, police reports, meds etc etc. u first go thru that and then i believe they pass the file on for relationship verification where they determine of the marriage/relationship is genuine or not. but between those 2 they also do a background check which is what takes time
