Processing time for spousal visa - Sri Lanka

Got my GCMS today, nothing was there regarding where we stand so we'll apply again in a couple of weeks. Here's a summary:

wow nothing started but applied last year!!!! Holy....thats unlucky.....and unfair.....applause for colombo visa office

hey we applied last year june and same thing showing for us too. If you are the applicant, have u lived in any other country than srilanka? From what I those applicants who resided only in Sri Lanka get their visa faster.

Is it possible to meet the canadian visa officer in colombo? Do they actually talk to you if you go in person to meet them?

I don't think you can, but you can always try emailing them. If your processing time has exceeded 13 months, they should reply to you. I emailed CIC via the case specific forms regarding whether they received my additional documents, a few months later they replied saying they did and have forwarded my file to the Colombo VO.

I tried many times but they wont let us in.. you can go upto security level..they wont let u go inside unless you have appointment letter(i.e interview).

Thank you.This is the 13 months for us and have not heard anything. What are the chances of us hearing from them in the next two weeks with the good news? I think very low since as per the gcms notes its stating interview is needed and medical expied in april. They have neither called for an interview nor requested re-medical and eligibility,criminality,security have NOT STARTED so what have they been doing with our file for 13 months??

That really suck!!! Few years ago,if a canadian citizen requested to speak to the officer they were able to speak to them without an interview(i know few who met the officers without interview to follow up) but this was about 7-8 years ago and I think the rules have changed now alot.

Has anyone here applied early this year?
I know one person that got it and they've applied this year and it only took 6 months.
For a friend of mine that applied from November is still waiting. Could it be that all who applied in 2015 facing some sort of delay?

today we got an email by colombo-im-enquiry by asking for updated schedule A form .has any one got the same request by visa office .what should i do .where do i need to update in the form .

Submit new updated schedule A form. For questions 8 and 12 you have to give answers from your 18 yrs of age to date without leaving any gaps. Even though the form indicates that information is needed from either 18yrs of age or the past 10 yrs , information is needed from your 18 yrs of age to continue processing your application. This must be received at this office

i checked the copy of my early filled form(5669E) .for the question number 12 i have given information from my birth instead of giving it from age of 18. Also for the question number 8 I have given information from age 16 .

is that the problem?

how should i fill this time as same as earlier or giving information from 18 age as they asked?

did you notice they have added new colomn "status"...i am not sure it was there when u applied... Becaue when i applied on 2013 that colonm was not there..

Just give them from 18 like they asked.
They just want it updated to see if you currently moved or your address changed.

How you can add the info under your profile is:

Click on PROFILE which is on top right hand corner.
This should bring you to your profile and you should see FORUM PROFILE INFORMATION on the fas left side.
Click on it and then you have your page with information you can fill in and make sure to save changes.


Vijay- the status column is new...it wasn't there when I applied in 2012 but my friend had it when she applied in november 2015

they know exactly what they are doing because for me at that time the processing period was 18 month for srilanka visa office and i didnt hear anything till 17 months... End of 18th month they informed us my case is refused..so u wil hear withing two weeks.. dont worry
