Processing time for spousal visa - Sri Lanka

Hello folks I'm sponsoring my wife from Sri Lanka.

I need your help. I sent my application on December 31st, 2013 and it says it was delivered and signed for by someone in the mailroom on January 2nd, 2014. I still have not heard from CIC yet. When can I expect to hear from them? I do not even have a client ID to check the status of my application. Please help.

I'm anxiously waiting.

Also I sent my option C, and 3 pay stubs (covering for a month and 2 weeks) and a employment letter outlining my yearly salary. I saw that CIC requested some folks to send pay stubs for 3 months. Would I have to do the same? What is the standard? 3 months? If that is the case, would that delay my application processing substantially since I have to resubmit documents?

I was wondering if anyone received DM only. The officer had not called or send any emails or mail. So what is the process after DM on ecas? Wait for how long? Will the visa officer call or send mail after DM?

I got ppr on last wednesday (08/01/2012).
but my status changed to DM this monday(13/01)...

I have no passport request or received any calls Jancy. My status didn't change. It only says DM. I did not mail VO office. I don't even know what is happening to my file. I am sitting here confused. ??? ??? ??? ???

Welcome! I think you should receive your acknowledgement letter soon stating they have received your document. I received mine about 3 weeks after but it varied for different people. In that letter
They will give you a client ID and with that after you will be able to check your status. Five days after I
Recieved my acknowledgement letter I got the approval. I think you should hear something very soon.

I am not quite sure about the pay stub but I didnt send any pay stub I ust sent a letter from my work indicating my hours and salary. I didn't even realize we have to send the pay stub.

Didn't email them yet. My husband might go next week to Colombo directly to the visa office if no answer this week.

Exactly same thing happened to me. I sent an email and instead of replying, they sent a passport request

Don't worry and everything will be straight

OkK, This is Scary. My Ecas shows for Permanent Residence Application Status "Withdrawn",We withdrew your application on *Date* and your file has been closed.
Passport req on 16.12.2013
Passport submitted 13.01.2014

It did not pass the 30 days. I called the VO and the VFS. no answer.
Did anybody come across this issue?

Hi, thank you for the warm welcome and the explanation. Maybe paystubs are not a requirement. I'm just anxiously waiting for acknowledgement letter. I've been reading this forum a lot lately. Some of you got your PR pretty quickly, and some of you had a rough time. I'm hoping I would have smooth sailings. I triple checked our application and included as much information as possible.
