Processing time for spousal visa - Sri Lanka

From what I have heard from friends in the past, usually you have to submit the passport in the morning and you should be able to collect it in the afternoon

Is there any specific time that we have to submit the passport ?

Hi All,

My wife got a letter from VO Colombo advising to Submit the following by Dec 04,2013

1. Copy of NIC
2. Recent Notice of Assessment
3. Letter from Employer and Salary slip for last 3 months

When I filed the application I submitted the "Option C Printout" and Letter from Employer, I do not know why they' are asking again.
I'm confused on how to submit them. Can I scan it and email to my wife then she can print it and drop it off at the VO or Do I have to send the original document to my wife who can drop it off their location?

My time lines are.
I applied on 20/08/2013
AOR Received 31/08/2013
File Transfered 20/09/13
Addition Doc Req 04/11/2013

U know what they asked me the same thing. Recent notice of assessment. I am the sponsor. I call the revenu Canada. That was a 1 800 number on the notice of assessment. Call them ask the, to send u a another notice of assessment... I got that by mail with in 5 days... And I got a copy from the original assessment and the one that they sent by the mail... Send those two.... After submitting those to the embassy I got a reply with in 3 week by saying submit the passport.. Hope this help

I called CRA they said the original NOA take 4 weeks to receive from ottawa. The can send me a Copy paste version between 5-10 business days. I asked them to send me the copy paste version also place the order for the original just in case if they ask later so I don't have to wait 4 weeks to get it. How did you submit the document? Did you send it to your spouse via email/post to drop it off the VO?

I UPS all the documents from my side to my husband in Sri Lanka... And they he drop off all documents to the embassy...

We already submit the original notice of assessment already... I just sent the copy paste.. It wasn't a problem... As long as u make some money last year and paid the taxes.... They just want to make sure that u r financially able to support ur spouse

Hi guys,

I sent an email to colombo VO to ask regarding the status. They replied to my email saying..

"A letter will be sent to you with instructions shortly..."

Do you know what this means? Did anyone get any similar emails?
