PR- Renewal Card Waiting

Hello,

I've been patiently waiting for my PR renewal card since 1 month ago. they mailed the card a month ago. i haven't still received it yet. at this point i am 99.9% sure that its lost. my question is that. i need to travel to US by land next weekend for important family matter. As per IRCC agent, they told me i can enter back to Canada by using my COPR, is that true ? has anyone been in this situation before.

• If you return to Canada in a private vehicle (e.g., your car), the PR card is not mandatory, you may use one of the following immigration documents:
  • Record of Landing (IMM 1000), or
  • Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM 5292 or IMM 5688).
• Upon your return to Canada, we invite you to apply for a PR card.

You should be prepared to possibly answer questions regarding whether you have met the R.O. to maintain PR status ( 730 days in Canada over 5 years [with some exceptions]). Since the jury is still out as to whether of not CBSA tracks exits from Canada by U.S. citizens, which was to have been in place by 2019 [ land] and 2020 [commercial carrier], they may ask you about your physical presence in Canada since you landed as a PR. NOTHING to worry about though. Just be prepared.

Yes u can enter canada by road using Copr.
They won't say anything.
Done it couple of times myself and also my husband did it two months ago

Did you have the Original document? I only have a photocopy of my record of landing and my expired pr card….

Your expired PR card will have your UCI# and with that, they should be able to identify you in the IRCC system as a current PR.

Hello Everyone,

Thought i would follow up on my post from earlier, Yes, i did received my PR, however, the canada post had delivered it to the wrong address, after 5 weeks, i finally got my PR CARD just in after 5 week, someone had slipped the letter underneath my front door. I was able to travel to US and back, had no issue, i just told the border agent that i am waiting for my PR card, and showed him the email i received from the IRCC agent. it was fine.
