Hi everyone,

I had applied for In-land sponsorship for my wife.
Today, she received an email form IRCC with the instructions for the PR portal.
In the email, it states that the first step is to confirm that she currently resides in Canada and she has 7 days to "confirm you're in Canada".
The issue is that we are currently in the US and returning on the 27th of November which would be past the 7 days period.
Is it right for her to confirm the declaration since she does reside in Canada but on vacation now or should she return to Canada and then confirm?
What would happen if the 7 day period elapses without doing anything ?

Thank you for your help in advance!

What did you end up doing in this case?

One of the reasons why Inland applicants are cautioned not to leave Canada during the process. Hopefully, it worked out!

Hi,

We spoke with IRCC and were advised to reply to the portal email and let them know we were on vacation outside Canada and when we would return.
We came back on Sunday 27 November, completed the portal instructions and wrote to IRCC to inform them of our return.
On Monday 28 November, we received an email from IRCC asking to confirm that we are indeed back which we did.
