Hi Experts, Any suggestions for below questions. Also if a minor comes to Canada (in TRV/TRP) - are they eligible to enroll to a school?
if No, our intention is to apply for PR within a week after landing... will that help? thanks

Thanks for your reply. I started the application and My questions are
1. I chose "Visitor Visa or Super Visa" (am i right) and then in "Why do you need Visa" - I put To visit my Parent (but Parent is in INDIA - so what Should I choose? - to visit Canada as tourist?
Our intention is to get TRV and apply PR sponsor for minor right away after landing - this will be written in our cover letter explanation as well )
2. I am half way with the application - is there a place to upload cover letter at the later stage?
3. Also while filling TRV - there is a quesion "When will you leave Canada?" - should I put 6 months from the date of entry?

Processing depends on where you live. Once you are in Canada, you can start sponsorship if you meet RO.

You need to be honest when answering the questions. The child is applying for a TRV to accompany parent and step-parent who are PRs when they move to Canada. They are not coming for tourism. The child is planning on applyi g for sponsorship after arriving in Canada so no they aren’t planning on staying in Canada for 6 months. Technically the child isn’t eligible for free public schooling as a visitor although some schools districts are sanctuary school districts and don’t ask about immigration status. You will have to contact the school districts in the city you want to live in to ask about their policies when it comes to accepting students who are visitors. Technically you really need a study permit to attend school and would have to pay international fees. In many provincesthe child won’t also qualify for provincial healthcare until they are pR. What province are you moving to? Did your wife apply for a health card when she did her short landing?

thanks for reply,
what is RO?
You want to be compliant with your RO when you apply to sponsor your child or you can risk your status in Canada as well. When did you land in Canada as a PR? If over 5 years ago how much time have you spent in Canada over the past 5 years?

Thanks canuck78! Yes I would like to write up a cover letter stating our intentions honestly and move forward. My wife landed on 19-Oct-2022 and we did not apply for health card yet. We are planning to move to Canada (ONTARIO) for good as soon as we receive TRV/TRP for our minor child. I will apply TRV application before end of this month. The thing is I do not know is how to apply TRP if our TRV is refused. (i have seen this happened from this forum) I do not see any direct step to start TRP. But as I mentioned i will start with TRV and see how it goes.
I have started contacting schools from Ontario - But no replies yet.
Also from below link - I find out no study permit is required if a parent is a PR or Citizen (worst case I will apply study permit if needed)

sept/2022 we got PR. from oct/2022 to today we are in india now i am ok to go back to canada by march/2023. as much i known i think i will be ok for RO my only concert is taking my both child to canada as soon as possible.
If i apply for TRV or TRP what are the chances of getting approval, and what is the processing timing ?
if i apply for Sponspership PR for kids how long does it take to get approval ?
