Hi, what is that you have to link to GC Profile? Besides submitting renewal form online, do we also have to create a GC profile?
How do you link to GC profile? I can't find the application number on the PR Renewal online portal. Thanks
Hi, so Have you ever did anything apart from submitting the online application ? like linking to the GC key n all ?

Hello, I am trying to help my parents renew their PR cards. Their current PR is expiring on 1 July 2024. They came to Canada in 2019. They have never worked in Canada, neither have they rented anything. They have always lived with us. They had their first bank accounts opened in 2021. I have their NOA from 2019 to 2023, but I cannot find second piece of evidence to proof their residency in last 5 years. Can I submit their medical cards? Or does anyone know of any other documents?

If they have bank accounts then bank statements with the NoA would do.

But their bank accounts are from 2021. They usually stay in Canada for 5 to 6 months each year. So they meet their days requirement from july 2019 to March 2024. The instruction is to submit 2 pieces of evidence that can show residency in Canada in the last 5 years immediately before the application. The bank statements would be for 3 to 3.5 years.

Now that I am reading it again it looks like no evidence is required if they have lived in Canada for 730 days in last 5 years.

You DO need to provide two pieces of evidence. No need to cover the entire 730 days of stay. Bank Statements from the time that they were in Canada and NoAs would suffice.

For eg. my initial stay in Canada after landing was 100 days or so. I did open a bank account at the time and for my renewal application, I provided a bank statement covering a month of time during that stay and the remaining documents from the time since I returned.

Ok thanks! Also do they need to create two separate accounts to initiate their renewal process? Or two applications can be submitted within one account?

UPDATE: Today (Mar 11th) I saw the GC Key shows the PREVIOUS pr card is now marked as "Your document is invalid". I guess the new pr card has been printed hence the old one cancelled by IRCC. Still not able to link new pr card application to the GC Key though.

Will update again once receive the new card in the mail.
UPDATE #2: Today (Mar 14th) I was finally able to see the status using the Client application status tool (in the previous days this tool always shows error for my pr card application thus won't give me any details). It shows the following timeline:
Permanent Resident Card
  1. We received your application for a permanent resident card on February 20, 2024.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on March 6, 2024.
  3. We started processing your application on March 6, 2024.
  4. Your Permanent Resident card was sent by mail on March 9, 2024.

From the timeline above, seems like the application was not touched for half a month since I submitted it. But it was fast once they actually started processing it.
Now I am still waiting for the card to arrive in the mail, which should be soon. Will update again once receive the card.

Hi, while applying online I was not able to upload my supporting documents to prove my residency anywhere. Is this an issue for anyone else? While finishing the IMM 5444 form, it asked about residency obligation which I filled some dates regarding the times I left Canada and that was about it. Should I just proceed as normal or should I apply by paper instead and include the supporting documents?

Hi All,
I am trying to fill in the PR renewal form through online portal, however i am stuck while updating the address and job details. The form does not move forward and keeps showing this error
" Please leave no gaps in your address history".
Can anyone suggest how to move forward. I have completed 5 years on 21 feb 2024. I am updating details since Feb 21, 2019. is that correct?
make print screen to see what you did

UPDATE #3: finally received card in the mail today (Mar 21), with a postmark of Mar 13 on the envelope. So seems like there is a few days delay between the mail date indicated on the tracker (Mar 9) and the actual postmark date.

Thanks everyone for all the input and help. Good luck!
