At this point in time.....luck. If you are in Canada now, do not renew the card until you meet RO.
If you are not in Canada, you can return, but you risk being reported for RO. And that will depend entirely on the CBSA officer you meet at the point of entry.
If it expires before you return, you will need a PRTD or cross by land from the US. If you are not compliant with RO, expect your PRTD to be refused and they will revoke you PR status. If you cross the border, it will depend on the CBSA officer you meet, but given the increased demand for deportations, I’d give it about a 20-25% chance of not being reported.
