Hello Seniors,

We have applied visitor visa extension for our daughter on Sep 23, as per the application process we should get a reply from the embassy on or before the end of this month. We have also applied PR for our daughter and it is in process. Our question is what will happen if the visitor visa gets rejected or it is given for less number of months than requested (we applied for 6 month extension). If anything comes negative should we need to leave the country or she can stay here with us as her PR application (outland application) is in process. Can anyone suggest us with your views? Is anyone else with the same situation? Please help....

Thanks,
Havs

If the visitor's visa extension application is rejected she will have to leave the country. The outland PR application gives her no status to remain in Canada.

Having said that, assuming she is otherwise admissible, has a place to stay and you have the means of supporting her, the chances of the extension application being rejected are slim.

I have the same situation but I sponsor my wife inland. I am canadian. At the moment her application is in process. She hold the student visa until Feb 2014.
We are thinking whether extension as visitor or student, which one is better. We have our house and I work to sponsor her. Will she have a good chance to extend her visa for 6 months more? Thanks you
