When you don't get decision made/PPR 16 months since they receive your application

but calling CIC wont give you any useful information...

Hey guys. Any idea what happens if someone quits their job or gets fired before PR comes through?

On all forms it did say that you are obliged to inform CIC of any changes in employment, status etc.
Although I'm not sure if they are doing any secondary checks since Province approved you.

One could try and not to say anything, but what results it will bring - honestly I don't know.

Cic does check employment dtatus.
I knew a guy that got fired and did not tell cic. He got mail yelling hom he hast to find lmia job in the same occupation in the same process or else his pr application is invalid.
He did not find a job with lmia in time and had to leave canada.
Always best to keep the job you have until you have pr at least

I don't think that's totally true as there are different PNP tracks. There are some that are employer-sponsored and some that are not. In Manitoba which is where i've been living for the past six years, once you graduate any post secondary education and you are able to hold your job for 6 months+, you are eligible to apply for PNP under the PGWP/Manitoba experience class (LOL..don't know it's official name). I'm a testimonial under this class and as a matter of fact, i was fired 8 months into my job while PNP was yet to nominate me, i eventually got nominated without a job and my application went on several months without a job before i finally landed my current job.

Moral of the story: If your PNP has restrictions, you are employer sponsored, if not, you don't have to be reporting every change to CIC.

thanks for the responses. Here is to hoping we all get PPR soon and the waiting ends.

I know that couple of you said that they couldn't link application to my account,we had same problem and today we finally did it,we send
inquiry to cic and they said that we can link it but we couldn't,today I tried with UCI number and family name and it worked and does anyone know if background check is in progress can we hope for anything soon or it doesn't mean anything

If you click "View Submitted application" at the bottom of your application, you can find the option to upload.

Hey bro, which was the length of your Masters program, one or two years?

I just enter my cic all good.

The layout on CIC account website has slightly changed since yesterday, same thing just a bit different looks.
Maybe as they are working on it, some people experience difficulties...
