And its on background check already.
I am August 12 applicant. Just finished medical last May 30, 2016. Turning 12 months of applicationtomorrow.
I pray that everyone should be getting PR the soonest.

I'm august 10, 2015 inland applicant, medical received end of April 2016 and did it sometime in May. My work permit expires on 10 October 2016 and I wonder if I should apply for an extension now or take a risk and wait for the results of my application. Any advice?

I suggest applying as you still need to have a valid status during landing. By applying you will be in implied work permit status if you do not receive your ppr before Oct 10th. Good luck and wish you and all waiting for ppr get it soon....I am also very tried and exhausted of this wait....

Better you u dont risk that. I think u shld apply for an extension as no one can predict CIC these days

Yes dear , you should apply now, there is no way that u have to risk about renewing ur wp. But once u applied u will be getting Open work permit.

August 12 applicant , background check still on process. I noticed they get PR after 4 months of having medical request/done.

I have heard from another applicant that Accra is currently faster than Pretoria. Unfortunately, I have no idea where they are currently with applications.

My background check is still "not needed at this time" in my cic. Quick scan of other people's status shows that i might expect something end September or October. I have requested GCMS notes just to see where things are at. Things are crawling pretty snail slow at the moment...

Mine is the same timeline. Background check is also "not needed at this time". I had ordered GCMS notes recently and it said medicals were clear. No other notes or updates on the same.

Hi Percy and milo!

Pretty soon your papers will goes to background check, i wasnt even expecting anything yet because of the different way of processing right now, back yr 2014 u will noticed getting a passport request after your status turn to "In Process" once that shows up within 3 months after ull be getting PPR. Due to processing took so long because of new Permanent residency category we are behind, they have tthis new Express entry most of applicants sent application during the first batch of 4 in 4 out rule thats why we get 15 months process , and the other one is the Refugees. that even priorities in coming. I wish they should also undergo same time processing because lots of people submitted an application and been waiting as well.
Let's pray that everyone will get PPR this yr.
It will come the lesser we expect.

Medical recieved (ECas appeared) :May 9, 2016 (due to have a previous medical taken and expired)
Currently on Background Check in process.

Thanks guys for your responses. I will apply for the extension of my work permit sooner rather than later. I also saw that in June applicants forum someone mentioned that they called the call center and the guy told them that there is a system problem and it will take more than 15 months. If this is the case, we will have to wait longer than we expect in order to know whether or not our application is successful.
