For real. I am so, so, so trying not to get my hopes up and I would be better off in my sanity if I didn't.computergeek said:They really must like you - they answer you quickly.

Immigration and sanity are incompatible with one another. Though I am finding my sanity returning albeit slowly (I'm still answering questions on here and making flippant comments...)WaterDad said:For real. Oh ms. Creampop I feel the same. So close yet so far...more waiting game. What's worse is you're stuck. Can't travel coz they have your PP. :'(Creampop said:I think it's just how long it takes, no matter the VO. I mailed my PP Oct 9th have had decision made on e-cas for 10 days now and still not heard anything at all from LA and another weekend after DM without PP. I e-mailed them but have never had a response from any e-mail I have sent and I have mailed Buffalo(before closure), Mississauga, Ottawa and now LA... just a waiting game, I am unsure what address they are returning it to.... I asked it to be sent here and requested a mailing address change about 6 months ago now and never received anything :'(
I originally just emailed the generic CPP-O email address - that's it. Honestly, I have no idea why they answer me so quickly. Considering everyone else has had problems hearing back, I'm shocked they not only answer mine, but you can tell it's a real answer provided by a real person. All I did in my initial email was use the Immigration File Number as my Subject Line. The first response I got was the PPR, and from there I've just replied to that same thread if I had a question or wanted an update (only two more times though).kafkaesque said:Awesome! Thanks again for keeping us in the loop
Did you email the generic CPP-O email address, or go through another channel? I have a job offer and it would be great to confirm that I might be able to just wait for CoPR instead of getting my work visa and turning around to PR a week later... Hopefully since we submitted passports at the same time, I am on a similar sched!
I agree, I am happier having not sent my passport even though it seems to take longer in this step. If I had known that it wasn't actually the "final" step (even though they've already waived the interview), I would be a lot more patient.santoki said:I didn't expect this part of the process, post PPR, to take over a month. In hindsight though, I'd rather wait a longer amount of time between PPR and COPR because at least you feel more secure knowing that they are definitely working towards completion of your file. I also much prefer not having to send the physical passport in, so that you could still more easily travel if need be.
Hahahaha, don't get me blacklisted!kafkaesque said:I agree, I am happier having not sent my passport even though it seems to take longer in this step. If I had known that it wasn't actually the "final" step (even though they've already waived the interview), I would be a lot more patient.
I've also emailed them, letting them know I have a job offer and would love to maybe know some vague timeline. I'll let everyone know if I get an answer back. I feel like I should name drop "santoki" to get a response.
CIC may say "30 days in advance" but the law says "prior to expiration". So if you don't have your passport back by December 12, I'd declare it lost and get a replacement (you can do so from the US consulate/embassy actually). I don't suppose you have another WHTI approved ID (Sentri, Nexus, enhanced driver's licence/license, passport card.)Creampop said:Well they have my actual PP and I was supposed to file for an extension or hop the border by Sunday Nov 19th... I mean I am sure to have my PP back by December 19th VR expires but what if it does actually end up lost in the mail? it will be to late to apply for an extension on time can't border hop I guess I could try I do have my birth certificate and the PPR letter from LA can they really deny me? and coming back into Canada could I use the same things so that Canada would let me pass? the worrying is driving me nuts... on my husband e-cas under sponsorship it says we reached a decision on you application and sent you a letter on July 23rd 2012. why couldn't they do that on my application just a date and I would have atleast had an idea of when to start thinking it was lost ya know?
Remember, you did file nearly 7 weeks later than I did, so at least you're ahead on the PPR! I'm sure it will come through soon!WaterDad said:So far, no santoki luck with an email response from Ottawa. :/
Oh! For some reason I thought you applied in April as well!santoki said:Remember, you did file nearly 7 weeks later than I did, so at least you're ahead on the PPR! I'm sure it will come through soon!
Not yet that I know of. I was told last week that I should be issued one this week. So we'll see...computergeek said:Has Ottawa issued a COPR to anyone yet? We've seen plenty of PPRs but I don't recall anyone reporting a Confirmation of Permanent Residency being received yet.
