I am in the same situation. I am postdoc, applied for CEC in March using NOC 4011. No MR yet. Awaiting for GCMS notes.
Although my reference letter contains some teaching duties (preparing and delivering lectures at group meetings, supervising and advising students), I'm still not sure if I should pull off my current application and apply with a new one with different NOC before Jan 1st. I'm pretty much sure I have no chance to be invited once Express Entry starts.
I submitted a supplementary employment letter 1 month ago. I received my GCMS notes in September, and known from it, the main reason of the delay was not because of the duties but they made another mistake. There is someone in this thread getting MR based on postdoc work. I guess you could resubmit another employment letter if the original one is too simple. Good luck!

Hi sebaoyu
I am in the same situation: I had applied in NOC 4011 and they criticized that the NOC duties don't totally match. Did you find a way out?

Just received GCMS notes. Eligibility status is "In-Process", Reason: Recommended Passed. The VO reviewed the application and recommends that "appears to meet requirements". No recommendation for second review.
My Reference letter includes mostly research duties, plus preparing and delivering lectures to my group and advising and mentoring students.
I'm not getting to exited though (at least until I get my PR card... if it ever happens).
