Postdoc-Should I resubmit my CEC with new NOC

Is it a right time for me to submit a supplementary job letter without getting request form CIC?

I don't really think it's a good idea. Job reference letter is THE most important document in your CEC application so you don't really say "Oops forgot something here's a supplement list". At the very least you create confusion, worse you make them doubt the truthfulness of the first reference and start digging around (dreadful "under review", anyone?).

I guess I don't mean to scare you, as I'm just saying you wanna do it right the first time. If they have any doubts/questions, let them contact you first before you do anything.

Friend, actually, I want them to contact me or my supervisor. I hate just waiting every day without any communication.

Oh yeah I guess you have something to clarify to them... But wouldn't it be better if they just give you PR without any clarification?

I sent my reference letter to CIC which was written by a HR person, who did not know my detail duties.
They just wrote my duties very simply.
So I am a little worried about CIC thinks my duties are not enough to meet the requirement.

So I am not sure it is better or not if I submit a new reference letter from my boss by myself or just wait they contact me...

Any thought..?

Usually you don't send them stuff unless they ask you for it, but if you are really worried the letter from HR doesn't reflect your duties, you can send a new reference with a cover letter to explain this. It's better than having them refuse your application without even asking you for a better reference.

It would have been best if you had done it right the first time, though. Why didn't you ask your boss/supervisor to write the reference letter? Usually those HR people have no idea what you are doing, especially if you are a technical person.

This is too general. Discuss knowledge and research of what specifically? Publish what results in what journals? Attend what conferences?

Don't have to be PhD level specific, but definitely more specific than what's in your post! My supervisor wrote less than 100 words for my duties, described them very well and didn't copy anything from HRSDC's NOC duties. It was beautiful 8)

This is why you don't ask those stupid HR people to write job reference letter for you! Employment verification letter yes, but not job duty letter!

I feel I must be refused since my duty in reference letter is only to conduct research on ... and prepare papers at that time.

What can I do on earth? Will CIC contact me or my supervisor for further clarification or directly refuse my application? :'( :'( :'(

Actually, I guess there should be an independent code for postdoc fellow since I do not believe the research duties of postdoc fellow match NOC4011 much which is actually for university teachers. However, in NOC official file, they let postdoc fellow move to 4011. I do not know whether those officers really know what a postdoc fellow does or it is just a fraud since they do not hope a postdoc fellow immigrate Canada.

It all depends on the VO. I feel like most VO's would let this pass but the picky ones might have a problem... Again a well written ref letter would help.

And yeah, it's a pretty bad idea to have NOC 4011 for all postdocs. I thinks they probably don't have much idea what postdocs do... I used my postdoc experience for CEC but I'm lucky to have an NOC tied to my field so I didn't have to go with 4011.

I am in the same situation. I am postdoc, applied for CEC in March using NOC 4011. No MR yet. Awaiting for GCMS notes.
Although my reference letter contains some teaching duties (preparing and delivering lectures at group meetings, supervising and advising students), I'm still not sure if I should pull off my current application and apply with a new one with different NOC before Jan 1st. I'm pretty much sure I have no chance to be invited once Express Entry starts.
