Hello Folks,

I am off on vacation from today until the rest of the year. I am going to enjoy myself in Florida and forget about CHC-POS. When I get back I will then resume my "obsession" with the brown envelope :D

Much blessings to all at this time of the year. Have a safe and enjoyable Christmas.

Pat

Have a safe journey and Happy Holidays Pat :D

Hope you enjoy every bit of it.

Ok guys,

So for those of you in POS, what are the hotels closest to the CHC-POS office? I've got a friend whose got an interview at the office and she wants to know of the closest hotels.

Thanks Confused, I will.

confused check pg 25 of this thread for a discussion on hotels in trinidad

Confused,
Is your friend's interview in Dec or is it schedule for January?

Well, today's my 7months since I got first approval, and still here without an AOR from POS. This is well enough PATHETIC.

By the looks of it, I don't think my husband nor I will be hearing anything this year.. Hopefully early next year.

Im VERY curious to know, does everyone receive an AOR??

On a better note, I'll be seeing the love of my life in less than a month.. that keeps me happy and knowing that he's being very supportive about everything.

I got AOR about 1.5 months after it reached to PoS. The same time, so did Mancrab.
The week before his wife got approved for PR. So he got through in about 4 months at the PoS office.
I am still waiting. :( So it seems that they move cases along differently. I was so hoping as we had gotton AOR the same day that it would be the same for the PR. But what also happened was that I submitted additional information which may have slowed my application. My BFD is this thursday though. So I hope to hear something from them. My hubby and I are going to Margarita, Dunes Hotel for a 5 day mini all inclusive vacation. And thats all i am thinking about as he will be here next week! :)

I think you definitely need to e-mail them and find out what's happening.

Oh I did, it`s wasteless.

the hotel where me and my husband stayed was called Par-May-La's Inn and it it just a two mintue walk to the embassy the hotel was real nice and the staff are excellent no complains we were their for two nights and i paid like $125 off of my credit card. they charge US rate. It is best to go in person and book the room than do it over the phone because it will cost you more. They have a website. I would recommend this hotel to anyone....

that is one of the hotels that i talked about in page 25 of this thread :)

Hey everyone, I am here.

Thank you all for the information re the hotel/s request in POS.

@ Vinni, the interview is in January .. I think closer to month's end.

@ CDN, not everyone gets an AOR apparently. This doesn't mean that they are not working on your application.

If you look on CIC's website, they have changed the processing time for all spousal applications processing at the POS office to 15 months. Within this time, according to the CHC-POS website, you must assume that your application is within 'normal' processing time. I know this sucks big time but even if you try contacting them they will probably ignore your email or send you a generic useless response. I am too exhausted with this office, having to wait for them to contact me.

Just hang in there guys. In no time it will come through and when you go back and think about those months of waiting, it will seem like it was only yesterday.

Confused:
did you friend receive her letter for the interview? i am still waiting for them to confirm mine. My hubby emailed POS and called Mississauga but we haven't heard anything yet.

I hope everyone is well and continuing to stay positive. It can be really depressing to spend the holidays without your love ones.

I think she's got the letter ... I am not so sure .... I think what you need to do is give them some more time and if it comes down to the last minute where you still didn't get that letter you should contact them with the heading URGENT

Hello All.
Well i dropped off my bfd form today.
interestingly, there were quite a bit of people at the embassy.
and alot of envelopes in the drop box when I opened it to drop in mine.
i really thought the embassy would be slow but apparantly alot of people want to go to canada for christmas! wow!

Honeybird,
hope that by dropping that letter in to inform them that their 3 months are up, that they
will provide you with some type of info or feedback. My wife has waited two weeks before dropping off
her passport as requested. I mentioned before that I did not pay the permanent resident fees with the
initial package, so on my wifes letter they asked for the payment to be made in Canada, before issuing
the visa. My wife will go tomorrow in the a.m. to drop off her passport, after that we sit and wait
again. Like you, I suspect a lot of visa request, but your ship will come in soon. Canada takes their
permanent resident status very seriously, once you become one, the rights and protections that you
are granted, cannot be easily overturned, so the delay is just their making sure that you and everyone
else fits all the necessary requirements, which involves a thorough background check. I have seen a lot
of horror stories here on a few investigative tv programs, on individual sponsoring mates, and when they
come to Canada, go there seperate ways. Lots of fraudalents sponsorships, so these are all factors to the
timeline. The mere fact that you application is proceeding, is a sure sign that they are taking every care.
Hope that you have a wonderful time with your mate in Magarita.
