Hello fellow worriers and waiters! :)

I have what may be a silly question....

This morning I checked our status online and they've added something about medicals being received so it now reads:

1. We received your application for permanent residence on February 18, 2015.
2. We started processing your application on May 19, 2015.
3. Medical results have been received.

(We did the medical upfront, btw).

So, I clicked on the link that tells you it will help you understand the status of your application (...if only!) and it has four categories:

1. In process
2. Withdrawn
3. Decision Made
4. Complete

The parts of "Decision Made" are:

1. Medical results received by CIC
2. Approval status determined
3. Permanent residence status determined

A very long way of asking... does this change in status mean that they've made a decision on our file, since thats what category 'medical results received' is in? I'm perhaps grasping at straws, but... :D

Thanks to anyhow you may be able to decipher for me.

(I'm still ever so hopeful that we'll get to Canada before the country turns to a popsicle!)

We did the medical upfront but they still don't have in the ECAS that they received my hubby's medical.

From what I understand your status is still at AOR2 they change to decision made once they ask for the passport to issue visa. I could be wrong but this is the pattern that I've been seeing.

Thanks for the info. I guess I continue to wait. :)

Hey there,

Well that's good news to see that they updated their system stating that your Husband's medical was received .

Once your Husband's status states that it is "In Process" it'll only be a matter of time, depending on the circumstance that is.
After this point they will request for a Passport.

Decision made is only shown once a visa or once your Husband receives his Passport back.
Each case is different so it varies and Ecas doesn't seem to update in real time.

Thanks Mrs. Trini,

I guess I knew this was the case but I was ever so hopeful! In fact if my timeline goes twice as fast as yours I'll be happy! You're a lucky duck! :)

Hi everyone,

My husband and I applied for sponsorship february 24th 2015
We received mail that I was accepted as a sponsor on april 16th.
All medical was done upfront
Today July 30th we received an email for an interview for October 1st 2015

Was just wondering if anyone has had to do an interview?? Ill be attending the interview with him as well as with our daughter. Luckily for us we applied for sponsorship and i was able to move back to st lucia with him while we go through this process.

We really thought our interview would be waived (silly us) but thats not the case.

Was just hoping to hear from anyone who had gone to trinidad for the interview and what to expect???

I should add that thay they asked him to bring: all original documents of his passort, immigration documents he had when he was in Canada, a police check from current country, photos of the two of us, phone and personal message from one another, and travel documents between the two of us.

I found this odd because we included all of these in our package that we sent in, and in abundance lol

Lastly, could this have anything to do that my husband is a denied refugee case?? And this could simply be to question if he married me because of this??

So many questions sorry, we are so excited that this will be one more step until he is approved, but we both were a little surprised by it that's all.

Good Morning Thejohns10 I wish I could help you with your question but I don't really know where to direct you.
I have read on the forums some people get interviewed and approved on the same day. From what I am seeing is that interviews are booked because the VO has additional questions. One good thing is that they asked you to bring the documentation with you and hopefully it will go well. Sending well wishes.

I'm glad I declined it cause guess what?? IT HAPPENED? They asked for his passport this morning! I've been rendered useless. Giddy and useless. Ha ha ha

Here's a question - does anyone know a good reputable local courier? Apparently DHL and Fedex don't do local deliveries and I don't want to send his passport with some company that might lose it...

Thanks!

EmmaLee - I have a question did you get an Acknowledgment of Receipt from Port of Spain or did you just get the request for a passport?
I am waiting on any kind of communication from the Visa Office at POS since June 1, 2015 and was just curious...

Also what country is your hubby coming from

When I send documents to POS VO I used UPS but they sent it through DHL as that is the courier that delivers to the VO, if that helps

Hey Canadianinlove,

No we didn't get anything official as a receipt from Port of Spain. We applied Feb 18. On April 21 they approved me as sponsor, which we learned about on May 6th when they emailed us to tell us that they had received our application on Feb 18 (so that was a Canadian acknowledgement, not PoS). The next status update that our application had was May 19th when it said In Process. Because we knew we had been approved on the Canadian side we assumed that meant it was in process in Trinidad but we were never formally informed of its receipt here.

That was the last we heard (May 19th) until July 29 when they updated it to say that they had received my husband's medicals (which he had done upfront in Jan 2015 before we submitted the application). Then July 31 they emailed asking for his passport (which doesn't show online yet).

Thanks for the DHL tip. I was told that both they and Fedex don't do local deliveries but DHL told me if I bring it to their office, they'll deliver it. Phew!

My husband is a Trini. We're both in Trinidad. :)

PS if anyone can tell me how to update the little profile on the left of our chats, I'll do it!!
