Hi Honeybird,

When did you file your application? Ours was submitted in May. If your file was submitted after ours then I would assume that the application was flagged here as needing more evidence. Perhaps POS-CIC sent out this letter as a result. I dont think it would hurt sending that information in. . .it may even help your application. Just my opinion.

Also, in my sponsorship approval letter it said that: While the Application for Permanent Residence has been found to meet minimum requirements for completeness under the Immigration Act, the visa office may, when necessary, request additional documents and information from your relative.

My husband hasnt received any correspondence from POS as yet.

Everybody advises that NO NEWS is GOOD NEWS BUT this is stressful.

Oh you guys, I understand the frustrations of CIC. Been there and still doing it.

I remembered when my application was filed with CPC-M in June-July last year it reached POS in August but I didn't get any letters from POS until late October early November. Yes, it took them that long to send me my AOR as well which I think is such a crappy letter because nothing in that letter is ever true especially when they say " Please contact us with a copy of this letter if 3 months have passed and you haven't received any correspondence from our office"

Ha ha ha, when you guys do that you will see what I am talking about. I have contacted them every 3 months since my AOR and never was I given a response or any updates. It was about 10 months later when I ordered my CAIPS I saw that nothing in particular was done to my file except that it's passed the Paper Screening.

It's very stressful and does take a toll on us all but it's worth every wait and in the end, it becomes a faint memory. I have been doing this now for the last 13+ months and still counting. I am almost near the end of the process providing that everything goes well which I am 99% positive. I am hoping to get this all sorted out before 2010 ends so I can begin 2011 and my real life in Canada. Gawd, can't wait for that day. I have already been having dreams of going back to our condo and just enjoying the things I took for granted while I lived there.

Hope everyone else in here is doing great!

I'm so happy for you Confused! What a long battle you endured. And then there are people who get through so quickly. . .go figures! The POS office definately needs to be regulated. It should be standard policy that an AOR goes out right away, & that they work in a timely manner, similar to CIC offices abroad. Missisauga sent out my AOR exactly 1 month after I filed.

After all, these are government offices representing Canada! :-[

k then i know they want more info. i was really worried about the more info simply because we did not submit alot and because we are an 'odd' couple. meaning...he is from Hungrary moved to Canada..and saw my pic on facebook. we have no religion, race, culture in common. i am so glad i started saving information after we got married.! :) now i got so much :) and i am gonna wait till the last moment to submit to get the thanksgiving stuff in.

so aside from everything do you think i should put in a statement about how much i love my husband? like in a letter?

GTWife and you guys from GEO,

I know the Postal system here works at snail pace so you should also take that into consideration.

Now, to be on the safe side make certain your addresses are updated and correct on your files. You can also tell you hubbies to check up personally with the local post office or I think you can call. Sometimes they are helpful in letting you know if any mails are your name.

Reason being is my neighbor's niece got approved for her US Spousal visa and the letter was sent out to her about the decision. The time the VO told her to look out for a response from them had long passed and she started getting paranoid. So, she decided to call up the post office and there was her letter sitting in the office for weeks. Hadn't she called she would have probably been waiting to this day for that letter. They are either biased or they just focus less energy on important mails for people.

Mind you, I used to send my parents cards from Canada.. the nice Hallmark ones and LOL, to date none of those cards never reached their final destination. God only knows what became of them :S

So yaaa.. just keep an eye out on that especially if you are from a remote area.

Yes! I included a letter explaining how we met, maintained contact over the years, and made the decision to marry. Our initial application sent to Mississauga also included pictures (some very old with hubby and I together as teenagers), phone records, Western Union transactions & postcards (dated back to 1990), & wedding pictures. In Hubby's permanent resident application he also included his PP info, postcards & letters (some old and new), pics of us (old and new) in Guyana & Trinidad, his Poilce Clearance, & Medical.

CPC-Miss said the application was 'complete' before they sent it to Trinidad so I hope he gets the green light soon. . .

Honey, these VOs are too unpredictable. It's very difficult to say what is it they are really asking for. The letter states Mangoes but they end up doing Oranges, if you know what I mean.

Again, in my AOR it said the same thing which came around Oct-Nov last year. When I ordered my CAIPS in April this year, it showed that soon as my filed landed in POS the IO reviewed it and put it up for an interview which was in September.

AOR, from my understanding is just a standardized letter from the VO acknowledging that they have received your file and it's in process, meaning it's in good hands and you needn't worry that it's never reached its destination for process or at a different VO because this sometimes happen. The VO, all VO, have the same standard template they use to send out the letter. They don't go through your file and determine that if more docs are needed. They just print the letter with your name and send it off.

Now, you can by all means send in additional docs but you too have to keep in mind that your file has been assigned a filing number and has been placed in filing. If you send more docs without them asking for it in a "doc request" letter it could delay processing because they will need to match those new evidence to your file which is in the filing room ... this too can caused confusion because someone may take out your file for reviewing while the other tries looking for it to include the documents... then, by the time you know it they misplace your documents. It's just how Government works or offices in general.

You can risk it but be prepared to face any consequences that may arise.

Re the Love Letter thing, I think that would be pushing it for the IO and may raise suspicion that "this person really is trying hard to get into Canada" ..... you have to prove that your rship is genuine but don't over prove and make the rship seem as if it's walking on water.

I hope this helps.

You seem solid GT. You shouldn't worry too much. Just pray for a speedy processing. This is all that you need :D

CPC-M's "complete" means that it's been completed, meaning all T's crossed and I's dotted kinda complete .... they don't make recommendations to approve or reject the application nor do they go through the supporting documents in details to render that decision. Their main focus is on the Sponsor that he/she has met sponsorship requirements. However, they will acknowledge the types of documents they have received with the application in Miss such as the evidences you have included. They also give a summary of the rship story and other details they feel may ring a red flag to the IO at the VO. Example, if there was a previous divorce, children involved, age gap, minor crime, etc. In the end it's the IO at the VO that makes that final determination.
