My interview date changed on e-cas, is that normal? The interview is still in January but on an earlier date.

Yea Vinni,

Nothing is ever written on stone for CIC. They can schedule your interview for January and on the day of your interview at the VO they will tell you in person that they have to reschedule. That's how messed up CIC is.

But, I think this only happens for VOs where the IOs are docked and not the ones where they have to travel unless it's deemed necessary that they can't show up for the interview.

Just keep checking eCas for those interview updates because as the time gets nearer they may even change the date again :S

Good luck though :D

I paid RPRF while my application was in process. My CAIPS also show that it's been received by the office.

Question:
we are gonna submit additional information e.g. phone calls, texts, my husband's stag party (lol), trips etc.
now on the letter they sent, they spoke a whole page on getting ready to move to canada and that you should use the employment tool and that you should have your qualifications assessed blah blah. well i had my qualifications assessed. do you think in submission of my further evidence i can submit a copy of mmy assessemnt from University of Toronto to show that all the work has been done? Its a good assessment..they indicated that my masters degree is the same as a canadian masters degree.
my husband thinks that if i do submit this that they would think i am desperate. cuase they did not ask for it. they just were talking in general about getting prepared for moving..

what do you think?

That's great you got an excellent assessment. I don't think the IO would be too interested in seeing that you got a Master's and it's been assessed by U of T. I am sure it's mentioned at some part of your initial application when you had to answer those questions on things you have done in X amount of years.

You have to also remember that with the additional documents you are submitting you must stick to the original theme of the application which would be "Spousal Sponsorship"

The evidence is always great but you have to really analyze what would be considered good evidence for an IO. By pushing the whole educational thing, it could raise a red flag to the IO that perhaps you are wanting to go to Canada to seek better employment opportunities. If however you have an interview you can bring all this stuff with you to show the IO that you are fully well prepared to get life going but remember to use it in the context of a relationship.

Be sure to include the things that you both have done together. I am guessing here that his stag party was without you?

Remember that these IOs are fully well trained in their area of expertise and it doesn't take a lot for them to weigh out the ones they feel as suspicious which could also be the innocent ones. So everything you submit to them be sure you are able to explain to the IO what, how, when, why it happened with some sort of detail. Think of this entire process as trying to sell yourself and leave an unremarkable impression that will impress a prospective employer that you are well fitted for the job.

You will be fine. Good luck!

Thanks! well the thing is confused, he is the only member of his entire family to have moved to Canada! So he has only friends. ANd for the the wedding, none of his friends could of come, and from his family in europe, only his sister came. So i guess he wants to show that the people thatknow him, did care, did try to do something for him. Which is the Stag party. BTW the wedding was entirely hindu and he is not. So i guess we wantto show the VO officer that w.r.t. weddings, the usual culture thing i.e. stag party was done for him.

OK, sounds fair enough. As long you can explain it all so it doesn't create any confusions to the IO.

And that is one big rass cultural clash .... him Hungarian and you Indo ... whoaaa .. how do you guys manage to work together with the cultures?

we get along fine..the cultures are just about the same btw. lol. :) whats different is that he does not understand racism or how the caribbean works in terms of gov't etc. And he finds our music a bit loud i.e. soca. He says he feels weird when he is by me cause of how people look at him and treat him. but otherwise we are fine, in toronto no one cares! :)

I was wondering the same thing cause i could not get in with my client id number.
I figured they let it sit for a month and then start working on it, since they give you a month to give in any additional information.?
But I am also wondering if i am typing in the correct thing for client id...

e.g. there is B XXXX XXXX XX and then on the left hand side of the barcode there are three additional number in smaller text. xxx.
So what is the number you are typing in for the client ID and do you leave any spaces in it?

Oh boy, I don't even recall. I think it was about 1-2 months later into the process that I started seeing my information on e-CAS. But, I also have a Client ID# from my past immigration history in Canada so I was also able to access my file with that number. I am thinking, don't quote me, that I probably got fast access to e-CAS. I think it was even before I got my AOR from POS and it probably had to do with the fact that I was already assigned a Client #.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help :(

Honey, the client number is an 8 digit number that CIC assigns to each case they handle. For example, 5265-1896 .... this is something you don't have access too.

On e-CAS you should use the Immigration File Number option which you will put in your 10 digit B file number ignoring those 3 numbers that are typed in small. Your number should be BXX XXX XXXX

Keep in mind too that you have to use your information and not your hubby's.

Let me know if you are still not getting access to it. I am assuming that e-CAS should be up and running for you guys. There really isn't anything posted on e-CAS except that they post:

WE HAVE STARTED PROCESSING YOUR APPLICATION ON XXX DATE

MEDICAL RESULTS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED (if you are lucky)

INTERVIEW SCHEDULED FOR XXX DATE (if you are lucky)

The first 2 lines remain as is for the longest while. They can request other documentations from you without updating that request on e-CAS. It's still good to see something rolling for our files though on e-CAS even if it's not a lot :D :D :D :D
