We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum.

It sounds like they've sent an email to the Canadian office requesting your medicals be extended which I would assume means they are finalizing stuff. They wouldn't ask for an extension if they weren't near the end. Could be wrong though, who really knows the process. May be something with your ARC as well.

^ I agree. I think they're requesting and finalizing all the last bits for you and you'll be through VERY soon with everything.

Hi Millslu... I believe the protocol would be for a higher command to sign of on the medical extension and that is done via the office in Ottawa, so it's not necessarily the doctor but whoever the officer is that has signing privileges to ok to extension. My assumption is that it wouldn't take long. A couple of weeks but remember its summer vacation time so that might hold things up.

WOW Priestman what a long time to be waiting. I think we all assumed you had passed the interview and landed already. I'm sure you are on edge everyday waiting for a response. Sorry to hear this. Maybe contacting the local MP in your wife's area would be helpful. That is a hell of a long time to wait. I'm thinking the interview went well and they've just moved your application forward to te next step. I recall you were asked for Fingerprints so they are likely waiting results from the RCMP checks. Did they ask for the ARC yet? If you have time and feel up to it, can you share your interview experience? It would be helpful to us all. Thank you!

wow its good to see you priestman welcome back I wish you would share some more with us, but am sorry to hear about your decision and you still waiting am sure u will hear something soon.

@behopeful thanks for that piece of info I hope the summer doesn't slow things down cause am getting ansy

No problem Millslu... And I hope it doesn't slow them down either but it doesn't seem to take much to slow them down! LOL. I'm antsy for them to finish yours, MissD and all the other early 2012 apps so they can move on to the next ones!

This is a very good sign indeed! The rules around medical extensions are quite specific in that it can only be requested when it is the ONLY thing preventing the issuance of your visa. Ours took 8 weeks, but we were among the first to be part of this new extension deal, so maybe they were still working out some kinks? In reality, this process should take only a few days. No doctor is involved, well not the local ones at least. They simply send the request to Ottawa, a medical officer (or similar capacity) reviews your original med results, and states whether or not in their opinion a redo a required. Basically, as long as there were no concerns on the original med exam, they will extend it. A redo would only be requested if there was something flagged in the original and/or there's reason to believe your condition might have changed over the past year. If all is well, they send an email to POS saying medicals have been extended 1 year. So it makes NO sense why this takes 8 weeks, it's really very simple! I hope they've gotten their act together now 1 yr later and can wrap this up real soon for you.

thanks for that indeph explanation, it really helps, do you think if the extension is given it will be requested together with the passport, cause am sure my ARC is done already its already been 3 months they have it, just wondering. we ordered our notes last week so we hoping we can know about that, but knowing that your medicals is the last stage is a relief am guessing.

somone needs to hears something more positive in this forum, ppl here are starting to grow weary and sad .

When they did ours, it was together with the PPR. So they sent the request to Ottawa and put our PPR in the mail the same day.

thanks @zouk i got the website extension and read all about it, thanks so much for your help, i know we keep saying we almost to the end but with POS the end has little meaning to them, someetimes you so close to the end but for some reason whatever they sit and twiddle their fingers whilst u cry all night and day for your better half. we in this forum is hurting so bad especially those who have been here awhile from 2012 and i realise there is 3 members who have had interviews in the last 4 months and they didnt get a decision right away and they are still waiting for that decision to be given to them, it has to be hard on them, guess thats why they just dnt have the energy on mental to come on the forum and just vent a bit.

well lets see whats going on in the future summer is almost coming to an end august is upon us 8th month has gone in this years, the year is in it last half.

hold tight forum ppl it wil end for us soon

Well i cnt say my interview was gud cnt say it was bad fix feelings frm vo ogficer. Said dat she wudcheck to c if i needed arc. But the information i provided proves dat i dnt need it..based on their imigration laws. So she said she is going to send it for a review. My wife mom is on vaca at this moment returning on fday. Said dat she an my wife wud visit the mp office wen she returns she wants to be there with my wife wen she goes there.
