"Blessings to all and especially POS & Kingston folks!"

^%$^!!! Now we are really going to need those blessings. The new Quarterly update was posted on CIC website today - updated effective April 24, 2013.

Stage 2 processing has gone up to 19 months for both POS & Kingston offices.

:'( :'( :'( :( :( :( :o :o :o >:( >:( >:( >:(

Real tears upon reading this.

It just keeps getting more depressing around here. Can't believe not a single person has heard anything from POS. Does POS hold back requests and send a whole bunch all at once. There really needs to be some sort of standard at these offices... More transparency and comparable processing times across all offices.
I sent more documents last week to add to our file. FedEx says they were delivered today. I'm keeping the faith and hoping something happens for someone by weeks end.

No transparency at all. They do whatever they want, respond whenever they feel like and if they choose to not answer your emails they wont. They need to be audited!!!!!!! Ugh I am so angryyyyy.

Hi @Behopeful, it does seem to be a pattern where POS office (and some other VOs too) is quiet for awhile, then a bit of a flurry of activity. We can all support each other to keep the faith :) and thankfully we have this forum to vent and encourgage and relate.

I'm so disgusted. I would rant but I'd either smash something or break into tears... So I will just stay quiet.

This is bullshit. Not a single PPR in how long and they say they need more time to process...
:'(

Hi FAD, wish your analysis of the POS office was not so accurate :-[ but that is certainly how it feels. CIC does audits and "evaluations" and I think (not sure I will have to search it again) POS was last "evaluated" in 2009 or earlier. It seems as though their performance has gone down, since then, not up. It is incredibly frustrating that there seems to be no accountability when people's lives are being impacted in such an extreme way. I have to go release some of this negative energy otherwise it will take over and I do not want that!! ;)

I know. I read the last audit in its entirety! Hoped they would have improved somewhat. Probably they should be audited again. This is ridiculous.

Going back on older forums and reading experiences from way back shows that they have not changed one bit. Oh well. Life goes on I guess

I believe things have actually gotten much, much worse in Port of Spain. I don't even know if an audit would make things any better. An audit is done and again it is a report that is posted on the Internet and it falls to no one to be accountable. I will never give up on getting my husband here, but this is the hardest and it drives a wedge between people and there are only so many Skype chats we can do. I don't understand how people in China get through so FAST and not anywhere else. Bull*hit! Anyways, nothing against China!

Glad I have all of you to share my thoughts and misery with! We will get through this, eventually! :)

It just really isn't fair.... this phrase, in my personal opinion, is overused in today's society. However, it applies perfectly to this crock of crap they keep spewing out.

Hey guys
Just a quick update I was looking through my emails and I saw that I got an email from cic on march 02nd saying:

"This confirms that your application for permanent residence in Canada has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2012/11/26."

I also see it was sent from the POS Office. But the date says 2012/11/26!?!? Anyone know if this is the AOR??

My wife has applied for a visitor visa to come visit me at the end of may. She sent the application package in today and they told her to come back to the high commission on Monday. What are the chances of her getting approved knowing she has an pr application in process? I just hope she gets through with a 6 months visa my plan is to try to keep her up here till they request and interview.
Thanks for all ur help
I'm reading all ur stories and just wanna say don't give up hope. Neither distance nor time matter when u love someone.
Hopefully someone wins the PR lottery today

Morning Trini!
I have been told this is your AOR. When I emailed POS because we didn't get an AOR they quoted the day the application was received in Mississauga. MissD told me this is what an AOR looks like. That's great, you had it and didn't even know!
Let us know how the VISA goes. I don't have any experience with this but have noticied most people on this forum are declined visitor VISA's. it's really a catch-22 with the visitor VISA and really goes on the assumption that your loved one won't leave the country, even though ine can provide enourmous amounts of supporting documents. Having said that Dadzin's wife has an open VISA, I believe so they were able to get one. It's the rarity I understand though! Good luck!
Has your wife been to Canada before?

Morning to u too

Yes she came to Canada before, first in 2006 when we first met and then for Christmas 2012. She was able to get a single entry 6 month visa. She came from dec 20 to jan 25. We decided for her to go back to trinidad because we were worried if she overstayed her visit. Hopefully she gets through, keep kicking myself for letting her go back to trinidad.

She may very well get a VISA since she has proved twice that she will leave the country but its all in the hands of the officer. It's likely best that she didn't overstay her VISA because it can make the process a little longer meaning she would need an ARC to return. I'm interested to see if she does get a VISA. Keep us posted.
