Congrats Jerry! Very happy for you.

DanAwe...you are so close! I dont know to much about FBI certificates but if I remember correctly it sometimes is a lengthly process. Search the forum and you might find the right info! The quicker you get it started the better. Good luck to you!

As for me...1 month until the hubbys interview! Can you tell I am counting down the days. lol Getting final documents together and printing a few more pictures to bring along with us. At this point in time...I am not stressing because I can only do what I can do. No worries here....just going with the flow. Heck..if he forgets something in the application, its not the end of the world! We are only human :)

Hoping everyone else will receive good news this week! :-*

Love this attitude! You go girl!

Congrats!!! Seems like they're in the final stages of getting ready to approve you and they just need a few last things to tie up the loose ends! That's great news! I have never lived in the USA so I can't help you with FBI stuff, but I'm sure someone here can once they pop their heads in tomorrow.

Happy for you!

about the FBI, it will take 8 weeks, you will need to get the finger print done and send $18 US dollars money order.
your embassy will be able to help with finger print.

A suggestion, get 2 copies of FBI, that will be $36.00 money order.

please note that you are no longer in the US so add a week or so for shipping. all the best

Update! I received a letter in the post requesting that I have a FBI Certificate of Good Conduct completed. The reason being, I resided in the US for two years while completing an MBA and I only returned home recently following graduation. This will delay my process a bit but everyone else should be fine. It is obvious that they are working pretty fast because the letter was done since earlier this month.

Does anyone know the way forward on this particular issue? Time frame, etc. I have to get my finger prints done and my only concern is that it is done to FBI standards so that I do not have to redo them. Please let me know if anyone has done this previously. Many thanks!

Yes indeed it seemed like they were ready to send me along my way except for my mistake in not getting the FBI certificate. Had I known I needed it I would have and saved my self a lot of time. Now will have to wait for this new process to be completed. Luckily I was able to send it today and my hope is that I get it back by the end of January.

My processing time should mean very good news for you though ;D

Thanks for the info Jerrynyc. I sent the application with the prints today and took your advice on requesting two. If there is anyone else who has resided in the US but applying via POS, please note that you need the FBI certificate and not the state sponsored ones. Do this now and save yourself a lot of time.

Thanks for the link Bimcdn. I was able to dispatch it today. I submitted the NYPD version because there was no mention of the FBI version when I applied via POS.

Wow! That's quite a while. That makes me very very unhappy. I guess Jerrynyc was right, it does take a while. Sorry you've been waiting so long. Is there anyway to find out at what stage of processing they are with yours?? I read that if you paid by credit card (which I certainly did after learning of possible delays) it allows you to determine if they have started processing your application because at that time they'll process the payment. I also saw many cases where it was completed in 5 weeks but I'm not sure if that was because the applicants were US citizens. Have you tried emailing them?
