Im tellin ya. I gave up tryin to figure it out.

On another note, this process is turning me into an emotional mess! Today was not out of the ordinary... just another day of waiting for AOR with no word. Then I was reading through posts on this site and read one girl's blog about her partner's interview. She went with him for the interview and described how they prepared and how she had to sit outside and wait while he was in there and how terrified she was and about the tearful process... and I just LOST it. I've been crying for .. like... an hour.. over this. And he got the visa! It's not even a sad story.. In reading it, though, I felt all of the emotions she would have been feeling while she was waiting outside an interview door and letting someone else decide her fate with her partner.. and I just imagine myself being there in the not-so-distant future and how hard it must be to get through.. Gah. I need a drink or something! Wooo-sah. Breathe.

Very emotional I agree. I say this, you and hubbie have to do your best to prepare for any possible questions they would ask. They may ask questions over and over and ask the ultimate, What makes us believe your marriage is genuine? (Did I forget to mention dem ppl bright) LOL

Or another could be, What if we refuse this? (Dem extra bright 4 real)

Just be yourselves - Truth always shines. You know when we believe in something .... like really believe in something? We act and speak with conviction, so nuh worry your lovely self.

I have been a crazy person the last couple of days since we found out about our interview. Our dinner conversations now consist of specific dates and particulars of our relationship. lol. We are just going over things but not trying to sound too rehearsed...I mean men in general really suck at remembering stuff! lol You would hope they would take that into consideration...cause my husbands memory is nothing to be jealous of! lol

We just found out from my husbands sons mother that the signature she signed on the form we submitted with the application does not match the one in her passport!? hmmmmm. So I am going to get her to hand write a letter and have it signed by a jp. Do you think that would be enough? They wanted a copy of her signature to make sure we did not submit a fraudulent signature..so I figured this must be done!

But yes, I would be happy to hear how it goes for you just to know what to expect if we get one. I feel like we will have supplied every scrap of proof that we are a real couple and we, therefore, should not have to go through that.. but it seems to be the case that interviews are becoming more of the norm.. so I'll be ready. I'm not worried about me nuh! Just my partner.. he never had to do all this stuff before like interviews and meetings and paperwork and all that and he gets overwhelmed and here I am sending him to the dogs in with an interviewer to grill him on his life and just hoping he can keep calm and tell it like it is. Lord have mercy.

All this just to be in the same country with the ones we love... amazing what we have to go through to have what other people take for granted every day. ???

But often they don't pay any attention to the sponsor or interview them. I just wish they could see us together. Oh well, I have to have faith that it will work out or I"ll go insane.

How do they know it's genuine and what if they refuse us? Those ARE tough questions. Truthfully, if this was not genuine I would not go through all this stress and paperwork and worrying every single day just to get someone citizenship. This is craziness. If they refuse, I dunno what we'd do.. They just can't refuse us! lol

Here's a statement from the CIC website:

CIC officers are specially trained to recognize genuine immigration applications, and they know how to detect marriages of convenience. They use several methods to uncover marriage fraud, including document checks, site visits and interviews with sponsors and applicants.

They are human and have families just like we do so I don't think they are looking for perfection but more so that all the facts add and line up. Judge Judy says "If something doesn't make sense, it's usually not true!" I agree with this....

Hey guys I'm a long time reader first time poster. I would like to thank all of you guys on this forum for helping my wife and I to prepare our application. I just got married to my wife in August and just sent my application to Mississauga yesterday. Just have a few questions, i used my wife's married name in the application but all the passport info and docs shows her maiden name.. Is that ok?

My wife did her meds on November 5th, what's the process of the doctors office sending the files to the processing center?? Does the Canadian office have to request it or do they send it in?

How long do I have to wait for a reply for the application from Canada immigration?

Lovingwife once your hubby has his interview..I would love to know how things went! Does he know where he is staying yet? I was looking at hotels the last couple of days...and boy they are tooo expensive! Is he flying in and out on the same day of the interview? So excited for you
