Welcome Brit_Edwards,
It's a long haul (so damn long) but we'll try to help you out if we can!
As for hoping to get through in 6 months because you submitted everything, it doesn't work like that (unfortunately). I had the same hopes (I submitted TONS of proofs including phone bills, leases showing we lived together for a year and a half, thousands of dollars of phone bills, photos galore, you name it, we submitted it. We also paid all our fees up-front. My hubby has never been in Canada (therefore no depart/deport order) and he has no other marriages, kids, and has never tried to gain entry to Canada except to visit me (after we applied)). So we have a pretty uncomplicated application as well, but we've been waiting a year. I'm not telling you this to worry you - I just wanted to let you know. When I started this process, I had that feeling that we would get through in 6-8 months because we loved each other so much, sent everything in perfectly, had no real red flags, and we just needed to be together ASAP.. but that's not really how POS works. Maybe you'll be one of the lucky few that get through fast, but these last few months POS has been working REALLY slow... it kind of popped a big hole in my theory that we'd get through fast if we had no red flags and sent everything at once. Anyway, I hope you get through super fast.. but I just wanted you to know the sad reality so you didn't end up as depressed as me if it didn't quite happen like that lol
While the spreadsheet doesn't have that many St. Lucia people, the timelines don't so much differ by where the applicant is from (or at least there isn't any HUGE noticeable differences between the countries). Applications tend to get processed somewhat in order, although a few people always jump ahead (annoyingly sometimes lol) and some, sadly, wait much longer than they deserve (some members have gotten skipped in processing - no fun for them!).
Welcome to the forum and feel free to ask anything about putting together your app and we'll try to help! Here's hoping for a smooth process for you and hubby!
