Welcome Brit_Edwards,

It's a long haul (so damn long) but we'll try to help you out if we can!

As for hoping to get through in 6 months because you submitted everything, it doesn't work like that (unfortunately). I had the same hopes (I submitted TONS of proofs including phone bills, leases showing we lived together for a year and a half, thousands of dollars of phone bills, photos galore, you name it, we submitted it. We also paid all our fees up-front. My hubby has never been in Canada (therefore no depart/deport order) and he has no other marriages, kids, and has never tried to gain entry to Canada except to visit me (after we applied)). So we have a pretty uncomplicated application as well, but we've been waiting a year. I'm not telling you this to worry you - I just wanted to let you know. When I started this process, I had that feeling that we would get through in 6-8 months because we loved each other so much, sent everything in perfectly, had no real red flags, and we just needed to be together ASAP.. but that's not really how POS works. Maybe you'll be one of the lucky few that get through fast, but these last few months POS has been working REALLY slow... it kind of popped a big hole in my theory that we'd get through fast if we had no red flags and sent everything at once. Anyway, I hope you get through super fast.. but I just wanted you to know the sad reality so you didn't end up as depressed as me if it didn't quite happen like that lol

While the spreadsheet doesn't have that many St. Lucia people, the timelines don't so much differ by where the applicant is from (or at least there isn't any HUGE noticeable differences between the countries). Applications tend to get processed somewhat in order, although a few people always jump ahead (annoyingly sometimes lol) and some, sadly, wait much longer than they deserve (some members have gotten skipped in processing - no fun for them!).

Welcome to the forum and feel free to ask anything about putting together your app and we'll try to help! Here's hoping for a smooth process for you and hubby!

oh wow you went to all of the good spots. haha am glad you had fun st lucia is such a sweet little place.. sorry about his accident hope he wil be ok.

am not sure about the ticket but i would wait for them to ask you, anytime they ask you for stuff its a like a two week delay so i would recomend you pay the ticket with the application or call cbsa see if you can pay it there and put the receipt in the application to show it has been paid

i know there are a few post tht go by pretty quckly but since POS increase their time from 15 month to 19 months its all been up in the air.hahah am sure other ppl in the forum wil jump in and give u an idea, but like i said no two ppl app are the same niether the officers are the same some officer do thing quicker thn others. so timeline are not consistant one bit.

yeh gros islet is the main attraction there is also fish friday in anse la ray, all seafood and music, did u do that one?

Thanks for the warm welcome...I know it has taken alot of ppl a good waiting period but like i said hopefully mine flies by no longer than a year (saying a prayer as i speak lol)...We see eachother quite often..im going bk there in december so I cant lie, instead of being all depressed over a lil period in my love life, our relationship should still go on right.. hopefully the lil baby will soften their hearts HOPEFULLY and the fact he has 2 more kids from a previous relationship... well as soon as i submit the papers I will start updating the timeline..at least I know I have immigration family right here for gudance and strength. ;)

Thanks for ur concern...hes okay though..his accident was 2 weeks before our daughters 1st bday and he was unconscious so we almost lost him ... Thank God hes a blessed person, like when i say BLESSED thats why i feel so positive about his paper work..luckiest person you will ever find lool plus his mom is a serious christian and what she prays for when it comes to him and his sisters the Lord sure does answer..would you believe as God as my witness when i was down there in April she told me she had a dream he had a nasty accident, so of course me being on it she was not liking it either and sure enough he did have a bad fall compared to the other minor times which were like nothing...anyways hes done with bikes now and just bought a car..

We only went to the beach in anse la raye and that was it only bcus i was DYING to go to the sulphur springs but was devastated when they told me you cant go in both at such short period since someone mustve dies that way. In april i was in time for jazz tho, so we went to marcha field or w.e its called in the pouring rain but yall Lucians dont care at all..Party must go on loool

@millslu - Yes, alive and well! Finished exams (for a few weeks anyway lol) and filling out paperwork for graduation! Exciting times.

Order my notes again today to see what (if anything) has happened since we last ordered them. I suspect the file is "STILL" with the reviewing officer (hey, he's had it for 6+ months, what's a few more).. but we'll see what they say. Fingers crossed!

As for you.. time to light a fyah under the ass of someone over there. Interview is done for you so time for you to be home again with wifey.

Hope everyone is doing well.

A friend of mine also told me that the processing times they have on the website dont follow them at all or you will go mental..she filed through Jamaica since her hubby was there and it took her 11 months, unlike my other cousin through the same visa office there it took her 7 months so everyones case is sooo much different.. then I heard someone else say that when your a citizen filing for ur spouse it takes no time but when ur PR it takes long is that true or just a myth?

hey there Brit.......it just a myth because right now my wife is a canadian citizen and she is filing for me and im on the 18 months mark. so it does not matter is your spouse a pr or citizen..it just all depend on how fast the immigration officer can get your file done

hey there bro.. this is what they say why the are requesting an interview for me........

limited proof of relationship development pre-marriage
limited proof of relationship progression post marriage
PA declares on the imm 5490 the following: first contacted sponsor online on 1/10/2008
proposed to sponsor over the telephone on 19/09/2010 - wedding took place in Jamaica on 7/10/2010 - neither sponsor family nor friends attend the wedding; PA states in imm5490 this was due to personal reasons Eligibility to be determined subsequent to interview of PA

first thing we did not keep any proof from when we first met online at all since we did not know that it was going to lead to marriage. since me and my wife got married we save alot of proof that we still communicate with each other plus she email them alot of proof showing that our relationship has progress since we been married.....i met my wife on a social dating website, so im wondering look how many ppl met the spouse online and got married...lol......they say that i propose to my spouse which they got that wrong, my wife is the one that propose to me over the phone and she just said that we should have a small wedding when she come to jamaica and then when i get to canada we can have a big one for her family and friends that could not make the trip down...but she told everyone in canada that she was going to get married in jamaica and if they wanted to come down that it was ok but the travel expense and they did not even have there passport or any for of travel documents at all to leave canada at all so that why i put the did not attend due to personal reason......

so that is why they are requesting my interview bro..........so tell me what you think
