;D Thank you kindly my dear. I also had the opportunity to read and catch up on some of the other posts from our POS and JA friends and read your recent post about some of your trials and tribulations too, which I know we can all relate to.

You have a gift of somehow being able to be honest about the struggles we are facing, yet positive in the face of them. A great encouragement to me and many others on here as well. United we stand ;) - against cancer and immigration stress!!!
You beat cancer so I hope and pray this immigration process is going to be a walk in the park for you!

Hi @ Behopeful and all of the other forum friends and family - POS & Kingston folks - that have been so kind and shared their prayers and positive thoughts for me as I continue recovering from my cancer surgery. I have lurked a bit and continued my prayers for everyone to stay strong as we await our loved ones; however, was not up to posting as much.

My good news to share is that my doctors confirmed that they did successfully get all of my cancer with the surgery I had (just over 3 weeks ago) and I do not need chemo or radiation. So, so thankful for this news, all of your prayers worked! Ladies & Gentlemen - please make sure you get all those regular tests from your Doctor's, my case was caught early as a result of regular testing and as a result - I am surviving and thriving. Do not be afraid, it can truly save your life.

Although my surgery was not on my brain ;), my mind has been more foggy and forgetful than normal lately, just putting that out there in case I repeat myself in any new posts or overlook any info. posted in the last few weeks.

I thank you all again & send love, prayers and blessings to all of you. :-* & Hug
WONDERFUL NEWS!!!! Never let anyone say that prayers, blessings, positive energy and love doesn't bring miracles. This is amazing and I am sooooo happy for you and your family. Continuing to send all the positive vibes to you and the rest of the forum. Thank you for sharing such news with us!

My honour and pleasure to send thanks and good news @ Zouk Princesse, it is true, miracles do happen. Actually this is not my family's first day at the cancer rodeo :) unfortunately. My family has been hit hard in the past 6 years with my Dad's passing in 2008, my younger brother in 2010, older brother diagnosed in 2012 and almost died when I was in Trinidad at my first attempt to marry my hubby so I had to fly home quickly and by God's grace he survived to walk out of the hospital after 6 weeks of Doctor's telling us he was not going to make it out alive. Now back at work and amazing!!

So back to Trini for me to marry my hubby who was my backbone of steel along with our Heavenly Father during all of this. Then after we married I fly home again, we submit our PR app in Feb. 2013 I am approved to sponsor in March 2013 and in May 2013 I am diagnosed with cancer requiring immediate surgery. So my point is that God can give us peace and strength to confront what we never thought we could and He is still in the business of miracles.

Zouk P. your recent posts have been so very helpful, comforting and inspiring to all of us still stuck in the immigration quicksand and I note especially for our Miss D. who is very stressed at this point and needing that extra bit of - yes it will be ok. Well to be honest many of us are needing that now so thank you very much for making time to be here more frequently to support and encourage. "We think we can, we think we can, and some days....ughhhh. We. Just. Can't.

Without the help of our forum brothers and sisters that is. So, many blessings to you and your family and for reaching back to pay it forward. Much appreciated by all of us. :)

Thanks FAD - I guess it takes one to know one :). You need to be especially kind to yourself now as you are enduring so much at a young age with a baby. I pray that you have some good support around you and you allow yourself to accept any and all help that comes your way. One deep slow breath at a time. Extra blessings and big hugs for you and your baby girl.

Thanks Behopeful :) I am very glad as well, as my brother and I joke (poor guy he did have to do both - not fun at all) "cancer is very inconvenient"! ;)

I was interested to see that you ordered your notes too. I am biding my time for that as we are still a bit too early in the process; however, it is always informative when folks share those things I think.

Do you and your daughter have any next plans to go see your hubby in Trini? I honestly do say extra prayers for you folks with kids, and the younger married/CL people who want to start families (my hubby and I are each other's 2nd marriage - or as I like to say "final marriage" ;D each with older kids, so that is one thing we do not have to add to the immigration frustration. The hypocrisy of CIC claiming family reunification is a priority does drive me crazy though when I know the heartache and burdens of people on this forum and I must admit it makes my flesh rise up in righteous anger .

Blessings to you and your daughter. My background is Scottish and our clan motto is "sweeter for there having been difficulty" so I tell my hubby that the past few years and going through immigration is making me the sweetest wife he could ever get :p!! He mostly believes me.......

CdnandTrini,

Thank u! I am actually a big cry baby but I am getting stronger with age :)
My support system aren't many but the few that I have is helping somewhat.

Keep taking great care of yourself. Although sometimes I believe this process will never end for me, I know that every rope has an end

FAD, tears are strength and as my pastor tells me - they are God's language. So cry whenever you need to as it is healing for the body and the soul. It has also been scientifically proven (crying is healthy) as well, for the non-believers ;). If I get frustrated enough I can cry and yell at the same time and I have coined a term for it - I call it "crelling". Do I ever get a good sleep after a "crelling" session........lol

hi forum

been so busy for the past few days. I need to ask a quick question. in my country our passport have been recalled for a machine readable passport, and all recalls expire October 2013 but my old passport doesn't expire till 2015. since I just return home its gonna take me like forever to get the new one, and as u can see I should be getting my COPR very soon. could I still get my visa on my old passport and would I even be able to travel on my old passport, even if its not expires neither pass the date for recall?

any help in this situation will be very gratefull thank you.

Hi Millslu... I am not sure in the answer to your question. You may want to look at some postings jerrynyc posted. He discussed a similar situation to yours (his passport was not machine readable and didn't expire for 2 yrs.) but he was required to update to a new passport before he got his VISA. He is Guyanese and said his lawyer didn't advise him of this. He mentioned in a post it says somewhere you require a machine readable/ scannable passport. Have a look! He says having to update added many weeks to his file processing! Better to start the process now. Again I can't say I know the answer for sure but just thought his posts might guide you.

Hi CdnandTrini!
I did order the notes. I honestly just couldn't hold out any longer. I know we are still a while away but thought I would just see if anything is going on... Maybe even something indicating we need an interview. And when I saw GIGI had an interview in mid- May I thought maybe there is some work happening on our file (her app was transferred a month prior to our file). At what point will you order your notes? Did you receive your AOR from POS yet?
I haven't made any travel plans yet. I was planning for August so that I could celebrate my 30th birthday with my husband but te price of tickets discouraged me from booking and I wanted to see what was happening with our file before we booked. As well, our daughter will be transferring from a home daycare to a centre do that will be a big chnage and a bit more pricey to say the least. Traveling with a child is hard... All the packing and she doesn't like sitting still... Maybe I'm traumatized from our last trip!! LOL!
Any trips planned on your end? I'm sure hubby would love to see you and would help to ease his mind to hug and kiss you as you recover from cancer.
