Congrats on your second year wedding anniversary! Must feel great your husband is here with you! Enjoy Niagara Falls! CONGRATS!

Where is the rest of the forum family? Things have been quiet lately, well actually for a long time.
MissD: I know you were feeling awful after seeing your notes. This process is taking much longer than you thought. It's painful. I hope you get some time with your partner!

Fromadistance: haven't seen you for a while. I know you are grieving and some days are good and some are terrible. I hope hubby gets to come soon. I'm sure it will help to have him as a source of support.

And to CdnandTrini: just wanted to say HI to you. We continue to think of you and hope our thoughts and prayers are keeping you strong!

Hope to see everyone posting again when they are ready. This process is difficult and really pulls us down. Sometimes we just need a break from the forum. Have a good day!
Hi Behopeful,

How have u been? How is the heat wave treating you? Yes the process is draining indeed for us all. I guess everyone is reading but nothing exciting to post about. I asked a question about the meds redo a few pages ago but did not get an answer. Probably you can help?

It is difficult for me for sure. Losing my mom at such a young age of 47. This immigration process is making it ten times worst. It is hard to go through both and wouldnt wish this feeling on anyone :(

Hi FAD:
Things are good here. It would better if my husband was here but I keep reminding myself it likely won't be for a while. I ordered notes on our case so that will give us some insight. I sent a package with proof back in April and am just collecting more stuff should we get called for an interview (and my gut says we will). This heat is horrendous, although I'm thankful I'm not living downtown Toronto in a condo on the 16th floor anymore. We are in Kingston, On. now so it's slightly cooler.
Again I'm so sorry to hear of your mom's passing at a young age. No words or time will ever make you feel complete again. I can only imagine how you must be feeling. My husband lost his mom when he was 10 and his dad when he was 18 and even 20 years later he continues to grieve them.
As for the medicals... What I've read is that if POS is close to finalizing your application they will extend them to the 15 month mark. My suggestion would be to send them a CSE, order your notes to see where you are at and if they don't respond and it doesn't seem (from your notes) your file is close to being finalized then re-do the medicals. I figure that way everything is done and in their hands and won't delay your file any further.

I have sent emails to POS and they dont reply! Have you ever tried emailing them?. I figure it is because they have done nothing on my file but still. So anxious to send them more proof but I dont know if I should.

As for the baby,She is doing great and wants to do way too much for her tiny age. And yes she is sleeping for 7 hours sometimes more at a time at nights which is good. Gives me time to rest. I am still in my mid twenties and was beginning to feel like a lot older with all this losing sleep. Still wouldn't trade her for the world.

Hi FAD,

Sorry, I think I missed your question about the med redo's, I assume you were asking how it works? With our experience, POS looks at it as the last stage of finalizing your application. So essentially, when they're ready to issue PPR, they will confirm the med validity at that time, and if they are within 15 months from the original date performed, they will send a request to Ottawa to have them renewed. The renewal will last for one year from the date they confirm it. Ours took 8 weeks, but I will say we were among the first to have this done, so hopefully they have streamlined things and can do it faster now. Some people have gone ahead and redone the med exams on their own, but that depends on the doc you go to. In Dominica, they would only do it with documents from POS, and of course, POS would not forward the documents to them, so we had no choice but to wait. If your doc is able to do them without directive from POS, this could be a time-saving measure.

Hope that answers your question, if not, let me know if you need more info. Best wishes with everything :)

Thanks Zouk for your detailed response. It is definitely much clearer now. My husband is from Dominica as well so I guess we will definitely have to wait!

I have only sent them one email and it was to confirm our application was received as we hadn't received an AOR at 3 months. They replied fairly quickly, but I agree you are likely not to get a response because of the natural of your question. I think given Zouk's message your hands are tied because they have not asked for a medical re-do. When will you send your further proof or will you wait to see if you have an interview and bring everything to the interview?
I sent all the proofs we had gathered from December to April and sent it all when I had confirmation our application was in Trinidad. I would like to send some more stuff but I have read the application will be pulled from the queqe therefore slowing the process. I will wait for the interview.
You may be surprised at the processing of the applications FAD. The newest member GIGI had her application transferred to POS early December and had an interview mid- May. That is only a month before your app was sent to POS. it's hard to gage stuff and every file is different.
Glad to hear all the positive things your daughter is doing! The sleep is great, I would have done anything for 7 hours when our daughter was small... It seems so long ago now though and I can barely recall that age.

Well u sending more proof could slow down the process or get them working on your application. Could go either way.

Why do u think you will be getting an interview? I never thought about it but now I am as you mentioned it. Probably we should prepare for that. You never know with immigration.

I think we will get called for an interview because my husband originally came on a work permit, left the employer and overstayed his VISA. The other reason is we had our wedding date set for October 20 and he was ordered to leave Canada before the end September so we couldn't get married on our scheduled wedding day. We ended up having a small ceremony 2 days before he left. People tell us this will be a red flag because we were married right before he left. We have 3 years of proof of our relationship, living together and have a child together so hopefully we won't be called but I'm preparing just incase!

Hi @Behopeful and all of the other forum friends and family - POS & Kingston folks - that have been so kind and shared their prayers and positive thoughts for me as I continue recovering from my cancer surgery. I have lurked a bit and continued my prayers for everyone to stay strong as we await our loved ones; however, was not up to posting as much.

My good news to share is that my doctors confirmed that they did successfully get all of my cancer with the surgery I had (just over 3 weeks ago) and I do not need chemo or radiation. So, so thankful for this news, all of your prayers worked! Ladies & Gentlemen - please make sure you get all those regular tests from your Doctor's, my case was caught early as a result of regular testing and as a result - I am surviving and thriving. Do not be afraid, it can truly save your life.

Although my surgery was not on my brain ;), my mind has been more foggy and forgetful than normal lately, just putting that out there in case I repeat myself in any new posts or overlook any info. posted in the last few weeks.

I thank you all again & send love, prayers and blessings to all of you. :-* & Hug

;D Thank you kindly my dear. I also had the opportunity to read and catch up on some of the other posts from our POS and JA friends and read your recent post about some of your trials and tribulations too, which I know we can all relate to.

You have a gift of somehow being able to be honest about the struggles we are facing, yet positive in the face of them. A great encouragement to me and many others on here as well. United we stand ;) - against cancer and immigration stress!!!
