Hello,
I am currently in Mexico and in the process of moving to Canada. As part of the requirements, I need to obtain a Mexico police certificate. I have sent several emails to MXICO-IM-RAU@international.gc.ca requesting a letter to present to FGR, but I have not received a response.

Could you please advise if there is another way to contact the Canada embassy in Mexico to obtain this letter? Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

They will send the letter after you submit your documents.

Here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/medical-police/when.html
Explains what is the process.

```
If you need a request letter
Some countries will give you a police certificate only if you have a request letter from us. If this applies to you
upload a document in the police certificate field in the document checklist that says “I am applying from a country that requires an official request letter from IRCC to get a police certificate.”
We’ll then review your application. If it is otherwise complete, we’ll send you more information on how to get a police certificate.
```

You just need to upload the document with that phrase and later they will send you the letter in the portal.

My advise is not to send a lot of email of the embassy, they will just ignore you.

Here is my timeline:
**Quebec Skilled Worker Stream**
Aug 6, 24 PR application submitted (Inland applicant)
Nov 5-10, 24 AOR, Biometrics Request, Police Certificate Request (Mexico), Schedule A Update Request
Nov 12, 24 Documentation for Police Certificacte delivered at the Canadian Embassy in Mexico
Nov 20, 24 Embassy request of my Police Certificate to FGR (Letter uploaded to my portal the next day)
Jan 13, 25 FGR sent back my Police Certificate to the Embassy (Called FGR)
Jan 17, 25 IRCC recieved my police certificate (Ghost notification in the form of - We are reviewing the additional documents you provided.)

Does anybody know how long it takes from the uploading of the Police Certificate to the Final Decision?
And does anybody know what the Background Check as Not Applicable means?
Thanks,

You said you are in Mexico. Just to be clear, you received an email from IRCC asking for the police certificate from PGR, right? My email says I have 30 days to deliver the document, so I don't have time to wait for an answer if I send an email to MXICO-IM-RAU@international.gc.ca. What did you do?

Thanks for sharing your timeline. I'm on the same step as you, no news so far. Applied to Quebec skilled worker stream, through PEQ Étudiants (Inland applicant):

CSQ took me 4.5 months (from applying to receiveng the CSQ at my address).

Federal part timeline in detail:

01/07/2024: Sent my documents to IRCC to apply for PR.
02/10/2024: IRCC requested biometrics and police certificate
03/10/2024: Provided biometrics
04/10/2024: Sent my police certificate documents to Embassy of Canada in Mexico
05/10/2024: Invitation to Pre-arrival services
08/10/2024: IRCC requested medical exam
08/10/2024: My documents were delivered to Embassy according to DHL
11/10/2024: Performed medical exam
25/10/2024: Approved medical exam
31/10/2024: Recived in my IRCC account an Information letter (supporting letter), which confirms Embassy sent my documents to FGR.
19/12/2024: Received message "We are reviewing the additional documents you provided. ". Which I belive it means that IRCC received police certificate from embassy?

I will keep you updated and I also kindly ask you to do so :)
