Right now I only have 460 points.
If my work permit expires before I get an invitation will I have to leave my family?

If you are common-law, why haven't you applied for spousal sponsorship?FEVRIEN said:that's a shame.

Do you know how that works? I guess the spouse would have to have money to sponsor you right? I make way more money than my partner (he is a PhD student), so I wonder how that would impact the sponsorship thing.canuck_in_uk said:If you are common-law, why haven't you applied for spousal sponsorship?
There is no minimum income requirement to sponsor a spouse. Many unemployed/student/low-income/stay-at-home parents successfully sponsor their spouses all the time. You just need to show IRCC that you guys can support yourselves in Canada without welfare.gaiou37 said:Do you know how that works? I guess the spouse would have to have money to sponsor you right? Oh I see! I actually looked that up and it's a nice option! I think I should be able to get an ITA once I get my TEF done since my score is 457 right now and I should be able to get 10-15 more points with TEF, but it's good to have an alternative plan just in casecanuck_in_uk said:There is no minimum income requirement to sponsor a spouse.
