Hi guys,

Good morning. i just want to ask some questions regarding our application..
here's the situation

My wife and I got our MR Nov.18, 2013 and already done with the medical examination ECAS – “Medical Examination Received” (as of Dec.11,2013) The problem is my wife's passport will expire on September 20,2014.She already book an appointment for passport renewal on the 9th of February 2014. If the PPR arrived before that scheduled passport renewal do we need to inform ADVO regarding that or just attached the old passport( with the visa ) to the new one and present both when leaving the country. We are here in UAE and passport renewal may take a while.

How long should the passport be valid before landing. we intend to depart from Philippines. Fellow kabayans please help.

Thanks alot,

NiqNok13

Hi, NiqNok13,

We had MR april 1, 2013, it was received in ADVO May 2013.
PPR aug 29, 2013.
My passport is valid until Aug 16, 2014 same passport I submitted to ADVO.
I received the passport with visa Sept 8, 2013.
Tomorrow night, we'll be flying to winnipeg manitoba.
Your wife's passport will make it, just start the processing of the renewal now.
Goodluck!

Hi Elena,

My wife will be going home for two weeks to renew her PP.Hopefully before PPR she already have the new passport in hand. But in that case should we be informing ADVO about the renewal process? Coz by the time PPR arives she will be having new passport. And about the RPRF will come together with the PPR?

Thanks :)

and goodluck to you and your family.. all the best.. have a safe trip :)

Hi,

We landed Dec 19.
Travel was so long, we had 2 transit, flight was delayed from the second plane so the 3rd plane left us, goo that the next flight was 3hrs ahead only.
So I advise tise who will have transit to have the waiting time atleast 4-6hrs gap.
We were interviewed in Toronto, the immigration officer was so nice, it took us less than 10 mins.
Then he let us go to the next window for SIN application which took us another less than 10mins.
Then, he said, we'll justnapply for the Child tax and health insurannce once we get to winnipeg.
Te experience was so great, i did notexpect it that way. I was notasked about how much money i got with me and the goods i brought along, bur still, prepare the list, it might be asked since every immigration officer asks different quetions...
Goodluck guys!

Security screening is related to Security checks performed in Canada and in countries where you lived more than 6 months.
