That's a wonderful news my friend. I hope you get your MR in a month time. Is there any additional line like "we have reviewed and sent an email bla bla". I think they don't add them now.

At the same time , I heard people describe their processing stage by saying stuff like- first line update, second line update, third line update or forth line update. It's kinda funny and weird for someone who don't have idea about those lines. lol :P :P
So what's your idea about those lines and when they show up?

Here is the ECAS System:

After login to ECAS system, in the first page its look like this:(Click on the image to get a bigger image)

And when click on Underline Status, it will open the second page and it is like this:(Click on the image to get a bigger image)

In this page every status update will be added there. For this example there is only one row: "1. We received your application...." and there will be next rows for next application status update like "2. We start processing application..." , "3. Medical result received..." , "4. Decision made" , ....

And This diagram explains each step in the application process (for Outside Canada):(Click on the image to get a bigger image)

Yes, all UCI numbers are 8 digit numbers but actually mine start with 5915**** But I checked with one of my friends and for him it was like 9313**** :o

I don't know how CIC assign UCI numbers but for other friends who received your UCI before, could you please tell us what is your UCI look like? (Only 4 first digit like 1234****) ;)

My EP number is EP001793** and I checked with my friend and it seems in just 19 days they assigned about 1900 EP file numbers!!! it means for each day they process about 100 applications!!!

Victor,
I think they ran out of UCIs starting with 9 and utilizing other numbers with the 8 digit range. The reason is that you mentioned the old uci are starting with 9 and mine also 2 years old (assuming your friends applied 2 years ago). So nothing to worry as they are just utilizing other number in 8 digit range. Mine firt 4 digits are 9045 (possibly your friends applied for visa after May 2013 since their number is higher than mine). Or the UCI is based on the local visa office being allocated or region of the file belongs, not sure.

Thanks for mentioning on EP number with some digits. I can verify whenever it comes through next month.

Also do you think they have cap of 100 applications? I think they have. Its not about system limitation.

I heard UCI remain same for lifetime. People get the same UCI even it's different type of visa application.

My Friend, As I know the huge volume of FSW2014 applications in last 4 months of 2014 caused a long waiting and processing time at CIO level.
These days CIO finished that backlog and processing time is very faster than before. ;)
Im afraid its same. at least for inland applicants. I applied april 20th and still nothing.. preparing for 4 months waiting for file number...

Filter everything like @cic.gc.ca

Yup! Tetunte is right. CIO email add ends with @cic.gc.ca and Subj is usually Application for Permanent Residence in CANADA.
