Nazanin i was just talking to another Persian guy like us who applied in Nov 2015 and got his passport request on early March 2016! So good news is that security check for us is not really long and we may expect some good news tomorrow right near the 16 month period!

Hi Reza, Iranian inland applicants are mostly waiting for a long time. Most people have been waiting since July 2015. Currently background check is between 6-12 months.
Hi there, well actually you are partially right, it seems to depend on individuals with unique resumes. Persians who are suspected to have worked for government are gonna be delayed apparently. I on the other hand never worked for government and neither my friend did who waited only 16 months. He told me today Im sure he is right.
How much time it takes to get our passport back from Ottawa...Any one knows....What we will get back just visa on passport of anything else...
I was wondering if any of you guys could give me some insight. I am a March 3rd applicant and my CIC account updated today. They are requesting additional documents? What could they be? When I called CIC last week, they said that all had been passed and cleared. They are waiting on the security screening to be processed.

I asked one of my friend who is a March applicant and got PPR before me. She shipped the PP on monday and reached them on wednesday. The visa was stamped on the Friday the following week and she got the passport on the following monday. So overall 14 days to get the PP back with visa and COPR.
Another thing to consider if where you reside as this will add on to the delay for ex. if your PP is coming from Alberta there will be added transit times.

Feb 11 applicant here, got documents request last may 4 (renewed passport) submit it on May 5. And this morning i just called CIC and the agent informed me that my background/security check was not yet started! My 16months grace period will lapse this week. Im so frustrated dont know this waiting time will end.. anyway congrats to those who got DM and PPr already...

they updated cic website today and guess what it seems they introduce some bug, I see couple of ppl got same message. U can take screen shot and send cse to get more details.

My profile says the same thing but when i called them yesterday, i was told they have all the documents they need from me. Must be a bug.
