You must not give up. My security was not started until the 25th May and I got decision made on the 30th May. It will not take a lot of time for them to reach DM if you are not put to scrutiny.

Feb 11 applicant here, got documents request last may 4 (renewed passport) submit it on May 5. And this morning i just called CIC and the agent informed me that my background/security check was not yet started! My 16months grace period will lapse this week. Im so frustrated dont know this waiting time will end.. anyway congrats to those who got DM and PPr already...

I got DM on tuesday last week! Still nothing!
I guess we will receive it by today's evening or Thursday's evening for sure.
Let's hope for the best.

I think with my example all the people that are tensed should not be tensed unless they have received any specific message soliciting any document from them.

Hello guys , it's CIC's bug because they just did maintenance today. Because it is also showing on my account too even I got DM

Nazanin i was just talking to another Persian guy like us who applied in Nov 2015 and got his passport request on early March 2016! So good news is that security check for us is not really long and we may expect some good news tomorrow right near the 16 month period!

I already passed 16th month on May 11th. I called CIC and they said everything is OKAY and I have passed my background check!. My biggest concern was that background check for Iranian applicant may take longer. But the CIC agent said I have passed! I hope we get something, soon.

I received my passport on 2nd june 2017 and went to border on 3rd june 2017
It was smooth and nobody asked me any stupid questions
They were super nice people on both sides Canada and USA
CARAWAY border services

Its been a week since i got DM buut still no PPR...i am seriously thinking about the MP option....does anyone know what can they actually do? Is it worth it?
