I am Jan 11th applicant. I contacted my MP a few days ago and today I got the reply. They said everything looks fine and in order:

We are hopeful you will receive a final decision from IRCC shortly; if you do not received any communication from IRCC by September 13, please let us know and we will follow up with IRCC at that time.


September 13th means 4 months after the processing time! This is absolutely crazy.

Feeling bad for you. CiC should be transparent, should not let ppl wait beyond processing time without a specified reason.

Why September 13th? You have a due date on file? Or them just pick a random date in September?

Once if we have MP enquiry on our file, they will wrap up our file within Three to Four weeks. Don't worry. Hope for the best. Good luck.

Back ground check change in to 'We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.' today.

Let me just clarify, my background check on CIC was N/A until yesterday where it changed to in on progress again. It's when I check on ECAS that it says decision made. From my understanding, CIC was just stay as background in process until you get the PPR email, send documents and then actually land.

I'm also a fairly simple case I guess, I'm a sole applicant and haven't been asked for any additional documents at any time and am from visa exempt country so imagine security checks aren't that difficult.

I just checked ECAS today, it says decision made too! I guess I just need to wait for the PPR!

You must first apply and get an approval from a province, before you can submit your application to federal stage
