Hi, you can do either of the two, you can inlude it like what I did, or you can pay it later when CIC demands for it. I just thought that paying it the same time will shorten the time of process.

Hi Everyone

Fille sent on 28th November 2015

Reached on 1st December 2015

DO NOT pay anything other than the application fee. CIC application ONLY asks for the application fee and will refund you anything over that. Do only what is asked in the application, nothing more, nothing else. Adding extra things that is not wanted for the application will only slow down the process. You will have to pay RPR separately once your application gets approved and they ask for it.

From Step 3 for CIC guidelines:
The processing fee which must be included with your application
The Right of Permanent Residence Fee, which will be requested at a later stage if your application is approved.

Payment issue - Overpayment

CIC will:

start processing your application, and
send you a refund as soon as possible.

Everything CIC does is a very step by step process and your payment will either be requested later once your application is approved (credit card) or returned (bank draft). And if you pay by bank draft, they have an expiration date; CIC will not use it until the application is approved and will probably expire by the time they need it.

This is correct. CIC explicitly instructs not to send anything other than what they ask for.

You should get a receipt (# starts with a R) and have sent it along with your application. It's all good.

I also paid online and send the receipt along with my application package. The AOR email also acknowledges they received the payment. So I paid ~2 months earlier than if I fill payment form, but that's ok.

Don't send RPRF payment until CIC asks you to.

Hi Rhasan, I am saying this based on my experience. I paid both the application fee + the RPRF. Yes its stated on the guidelines that it must not be over/lower than the said fee, but I tried my luck ( as I've read on some forums also that they paid it at once) and my AOR has been sent to me last FEB-23, after 80days of receiving (CIO NS).

Well, its still up to the applicant's discretion, I am just sharing based on what I know and what I experienced. Its still up to the person to decide on what to do. Guidelines are there for us to follow through. Sometimes forums can be really confusing.

Either be very careful or be a risk taker like me hahaha!

Anyway, goodluck guys! ;D

Yes this forum is filled with misinformation and ignorance. In the end, you are responsible for your application, your success and your failure. I used to be very active in this forum 5 years ago and damn I saw some really really bad advises. Stepped away from here and now came back to see how things are and appears to be worse LOL. I am thinking of vanishing again :)
