Hi Karlaplus,
Are you express entry applicant? If then 6 months. If paper based application 15 months.
If you are paper based pnp applicant I would say you are so lucky. Medical request is overdue since mid June inland applications.
Not sure why they didn't send MR for main applicant. Let's wait for senior members reply I would personally suggest you to apply for pcc from all applicable countries and send in advance to CIC.

We are paper based application. So, I guess I'm lucky. But still is weir they are asking for mine and not main applicant.

15 months my friend, this is the timeline given on the CIC website for paper based applications. If we get it before that, we should consider our self as lucky.

Good things comes to those that wait :P

A person that I know (inland) applied for pr under pnp in March 2015, got MR in June 2015. Did medical. Doctor suggested some special test. He had to wait 6 months for appointment for that test. After long wait they did that special medical test. Positive medical.
And within 2-3 months after submitting updated medical they got PPR last week. So I guess Cic is trying to clear files within 1 year. Let's hope for the best.

Application inland, saskatchewan provincial nominee. Application received in Sydney Oct 16th, 2015. Got letter saying is in process Jan 23rd, 2016. Application is for both my husband and I. Yesterday I got medical request and my husband didn't. Is that weird? He is the main applicant. Are they going to request police clearance after this? How long more do we have to wait to get our pr?

They did that to our friends too! BEWARE! They will request one for your husband too, once they have yours.
If you don't send them for both, the process will be delayed by few weeks.
I would do medicals and police clearance certs for all applicants, just in case.

When i finished with my medical, doctor handed over me a sheet which has a tracking number for my e medical, and told me to send this sheet to my visa office...that sheet is a proof to visa office that you have undergone the medical test already...
