Hey guys, April 2016 applicant here. Just add my child to my application few days ago through online account. My application status from CIC changed to:

Review of eligibility - We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Review of additional documents - We need more documents to continue processing your application. We will send you a message with more details.

I have already uploaded my child's birth certificate online since he's born in Canada. Anyone had same situation? Any idea how much it would delay the application?

I called CIC earlier, 30 minutes waiting of course, but eventually someone picked up. So the agent told me that my upload was successfully received (I was doing paper based application but switched to online submission thistime so wasn't sure if i have done this correctly), and she also told me that it''s totally fine that the review of eligibility switched back to reviewing but it just normal procedure and the review has passed already.

Although my cic login or the erca? both show that my back ground check is still in process, but she told me that my bg was passed and just waiting for final decision. According to her, the cic login or the erca were really back logged, so i don't know how soon will they update these. Just a bit follow up for my situation just in case someone has same scenario.

My background check on cic account changed to in progress just 3 days ago! No other updates in cic account so far

I had got my pnp approved in jan 2016
Applied in april 2016 and my file was sent back to me in may because they needed my hand written signature rather than electronic ones on one of the forms
My reapplication was accepted in june 2016
Work permit expirey in feb 2017.... pnp support letter received a few days aftee the expirey of my work permit...
I couldn't apply without support letter although I had filled out the paperwork of bridging work permit
Since the support letter came late, I had to fill out new paperwork of application of work permit in march and got rejection in july

May 30 2016 applicant called cic agent just now. He said everything is completed just waiting for final review. and my bgc is done ,too. File is still at Sydney. it is weird that I check my account everyday and my bgc never been changed, it is always N/A . Now he told me it is passed. Anybody got the same situation ?

It had expired in feb and I had paperwork ready before expirey. I had filled the paperwork for me and my husband by myself for bridging WP.It was tough time to fill paperwork at night with a little baby. But my pnp support letter came after expirey because of some delays at their end. So filled the paperwork for 2 people again because now my status was changed. And got refusal. I had asked my husband to file it through agent but didn't get a positive response.

What can I do now

If you're outside Canada, then you have to apply for a closed work permit since you already lost the chance of applying for a bridging open work permit. You must get your employer to fill out a LMIA exempt employment form and submit online to CIC. This is not a LMIA but a LMIA Exempt which is different because your employer can submit this online through the employer portal and he/she also have the pay the $230 compliance fee. Once all that is done, they will give you a employment ID and receipt of payment $230 and you can submit online with those including the PNP letter and AOR of your PR application
