Yes. I got married last year but spouse is Canadian. They just asked for her passport or birth certificate right before BGIP.

Just send them your detailed Resume/CV and specify in another page that your program was not thesis-based and you don't have any thesis or publications. This is actually better than having anything published! Less documents to review and faster BG check process.

Yes I was asked to submit the documents on Nov 22nd. I submitted the same day. Then some time after 23rd, status changed to BGIP.

They asked me detailed CV and list of publications too, for masters and phd. It's part of BG check I guess.
