are you from a visa exmpt country? if yes i think all you need is your work permit. but if you need visa to travel to canada they wont let u in even if you will say u are a PR u must have ur PR card on hand and you said work permit will expire next month so i think its a little risky to do that.

I am not from a visa exempt country :/ but my work permit is still valid until July 18. And I return June 30

Hi, Once you get your passport back with the visa stamped which is good for one time entry into Canada, instead of flagpoling you can go on with your vacation and come back to Canada and can use that visa to enter as LANDED permanent resident and in this way you won't need the pr card. But you have to SKIP Flagpoling before your vacation. And make sure you take all your documents with you on your vacation so that when you return you can complete your final PR process either by road or any airport, doesn't matter. Hope you understood the process. In this way you won't have to depend on your current work permit any more. Enjoy.

You will be getting ppr in the next 1-2 weeks. So its risk.
Cool, one last thing to wait from cic and the final step is non-cic. When you both are landing?

Hi hari, i can cross border in 20 minutes time, so expecting pp on monday, i can do it same day, we have border with North dakota, place called north portal, manytimes i accompanied my friends for their PR, now i go for myself, lets hope for best, when u coming to canada????

I thought about doing this but I'm quitting my job so I don't know if landing after quitting is safe? Don't want to get denied PR cause I quit my job.

As far as I understand you got your PR based on your provincial nomination and yes the nomination is based on your job but not your PR. All you need is to show your last paystubs and maybe take a current bank statement to show some savings. I think you should take a second opinion from an expert or consultant.

I also don't want you to take any kind of risk. Good luck.

I checked MyCIC right now. Background check changed to “in progress” ;) Thank you :)

My timeline is...

I sent PR application on April 20th in 2015. My application arrived at Sydney office on April 24th in 2015.

But ECAS shows...

Application was received on June 8th in 2015. ( I have no Idea what happened to my application...)
Started process on August 21st in 2015.
AOR on September 2nd. (I emailed Sydney office to ask about my AOR because I didn't receive AOR email but I could log in ECAS with my client number and see my status. Next day they sent AOR.)
I took up-front medical exam in December in 2015. (I emailed Sydney office with the paper the doctor gave me.)
Medical was received in January in 2016.
Remainder mail on January 27th.
Start checking your email from 7:30am EST on Monday. Hopefully no cic issues come up. Good luck.
Thinking your application might have been lying at a place where no one was noticing and finally found it on June 8th and put it in queue.

1.We received your application for permanent residence on June 12, 2015.
2.We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on August 20, 2015.
3.We started processing your application on August 20, 2015.

Does anyone know why there is no update for medical result on my ECAS?
Ive got MR on April 29th
No need to worry about ecas update. Not all updates are sent to all applicants' profile online in ecas. You can see that its passed in mycic status. Thats more than enough. All you need is "A background check is needed" turns from "Not needed at this time" to "In progress".

Guys I need your help!!!

I got Ppr last week, and just waiting for my passport to get back to flagpole and get the PR visa stamped on it.

I booked a flight to Mexico for some long needed vacations and my return flight is mexico - Usa and then planning on driving from portland to Vancouver. Do you think they will let me back in without a Pr card? I'd be crossing by land (on a rental car, not a commercial vehicle).

Any light shed on this would be highly appreciated!

Thanks!
You cant board the flight (cant get the borading pass) without visa to US. So you need to have your tickets till your/some Canadian city.
Even if you have your flight till Portland, you cant clear immigration at Portland hence plan of entering Canada by drive is not an option. Sorry.

If you dont have valid visa to US then you cannot enter US hence option of using COPR will not work. So you need to delay your flagpolling and then do entry as PR while returning from vacation.

Sorry, forgot to mention I have a valid US visa. That's why I want to fly into the US from Mexico and then just drive back into Canada.

My only concern with landing when I return from my trip is that I would get denied PR because I quit my job

You won't, I got laid off from my job since January, and I am on closed work permit so I couldnt work anywhere either. But I am hoping it shouldn't be a problem. I spoke to a company owner and he said he will write me a job offer letter just incase they ask during landing. I'll tell them I just recently got the job and waiting for my PR to start the job

Almost approaching 1 year, wonder if next week will bring some light on the remaining applicants. They are taking so long nowadays. We thought after last week's PPR shower they will continue it this week as well, but this week was almost dead with a few sporadic PPRs. Here is my status on ECAS and MyCIC.

If visa is multiple entry: If you have not used the visa recently then you wont get much question.
If its single entry: if its not used yet then you are good.

if you have done flagpolling already then you are PR hence you will be allowed inside with COPR via land (no more employer sponsorship dependency).

Already they dragged till this 52nd week anyway. So you would definitely get it this coming week as you are completing 1 year by 10th. THinking there was system glitch yesterday, or else you would have gotten it. Let us wait for the rain on Monday.

hi all

i have received email that my application has been updated (in mycic). When i logged in to "mycic" there was no update of status. Has anyone else experienced the same?

P.S i am paper based applicant and my application is linked online to "mycic"
