Try changing your address online on their website. That speeds up the application I suspect.
This seems to be a good idea to make them revisit the file with a right reason. I will keep it in my notes which might help if needed. But I wish I dont require this to do ;). thanks.

hello guys,

can anyone tell me about PNP program. here in my case I have distant relative uncle in toronto (ontario).
and I want to apply for PR there as I have 5 years more experience in oil and gas sector.
I want to know either I will be eligible or not for the program and how can my uncle help me in this.

you will get the answer to all your queries on the Canadian immigration website

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/apply.asp

this will tell you which stream you are eligible or ineligible for.
pnp will be under provincial nominees.

Hey All,

Has anyone had done landing in a CIC office? Could you describe the process? Could you still do it if CIC has issued the landing visa? And how long would it take for CIC to give you an appointment? Thanks

Ottawa office doesn't require any appointment, you can go walk in. Only exception here is it is open only on 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month. I don't know about other offices in other cities.

process is very simple. Just take COPR,passport, any permits and 2 PR card size photos with you. Wait for you turn and they will see these docs, stamp on your PP and sign on COPR..... you are done then

Don't worry. You will get your ppr by this month in Sha ALLAH.

Hey Guys,

Since I experienced such a painful waiting time until I got my PR, and also I was not able to find a similar case to me in this forum, I would like to share my experience and timeline here:

My program was Quebec Skilled Worker program having a CSQ

- I submitted my application on October 16, 2014
- I received the acknowledgement email on Feb 18, 2015 and Medical Request on March 10, 2015.
- Medical results received by CIC on March 26, 2015
- My status changed to "in process" on July 10, 2015 and right after on July 20, 2015, I received an email "Document Request" requesting for CV and Supplementary information form for students.
- I submitted the required info on July 22, 2015 and the background check started on July 27, 2015
- My background check finalized on October 23, 2015 and status changed to "Decision Made" on October 24, 2015
- I received the passport request email four days later on October 28, 2015 and submitted my passport.
- Currently I am waiting for the passport to return.

Some Notes:
- From the people around me and my own experience, I strongly suggest new applicants pay their permanent residence fee at first along with their application fee (Totally comes to 1040 CAD). That absolutely will save you a month or two
- The document request letter I received on July 2015 means additional security screening. This is for citizens of certain countries who studied in sensitive fields such as aerospace or etc and have work experience back in their home countries.
- If there is anyone who received the document request like me, they should expect their decision between 90 to 130 days after they provide the information.
- Finally at the last stage, If you see your status is changed to decision made and you did not receive the pass request on same day, I suggest calling CIC call center and tell them your application is approved but you did not receive pass request and they might verify if the passport request is sent out or not.

I hope it is useful

Good luck
