Randy: Yes life can be a b***h and bad things happen to people. I cannot imagine how frustrated you must be. What are the odds of some moron stealing from the box on the day you receive your most important document.
However, you should not worry about PR. There are people who lost PP/COPR in other threads by canadapost. Ottawa reissues the docs on a new passport. But of course it will cause some delay because you will have to apply for a new PP and sent it to cic.
Question: Why did canadapost deliver to your box? Didn't you pay for signature on delivery? If they violated get money as compensation.
Also raise it to your apartment management and warn them about taking steps of making the building secure.
But first thing first: you need to get PP re-issued now.

Hello everyone,

Any news from people that are still IP since April or before? I'm getting close to being 3 moths in IP and no news whatsoever from CIC! I'm not sure at this point if I should expect DM, PPR or Doc request...?

What are your thoughts on it? I really appreciate it!

Hello guys, Question, How long does CIC takes to reply to the request to change Spouse visa office? i have already emailed them last night and sent cover letter along with my Passport as well. Thanks in advance.

My management has informed me that they have caught the guy, but nothing came out from Police. No, I didn't pay for the signature, and that was my only fault. I am usually not at home so I thought I would just pick it up from my mailbox and leave for Europe. You expect that only you have the key for your mailbox.

Some people have scared me that Ottawa office will take their sweet time and then reply. I am just worried if they don't reply in months? Should I go for lawyer for is it doable on my own? My representative has said to dropped an email to Ottawa and that's it. Even a Monkey can crack it.

I will go to a local MP by tomorrow and hope that he will help me. Should I just go or call first? They're not picking up my call.

They will email you back. Wait for 3 to 5 business days at-least.

Hi Randy thanks for ur quick reply but i have heard somewhere that CIC does not send PPR email to spouse until we are done landing in Canada? Is that correct?
And i felt so bad reading ur Passport lost post. i have seen similar stories on this forum but at the end everybody gets it. i would say MP could be a great help coz CIC responds to them really fast , say in a week. all the best to you.

Thanks. Yeah, I was not even imagining it in the worst case.

BTW, your spouse can get a PPR email, but you or your representative will receive it. And that true that your spouse has to wait for your landing. Even in my case, he got a PPR request in 3 days after I receive my PPR request.

Hi, there is one thread about this. One applicant got refusal because cic didnt get documents in 60 days unpleasant surprise. No notice. Just like that. Dont know the end of the story because she doesnt reply any more

usually u r supposed to make an appointment. but if they are not picking the call, just walk up to them. u need to carry some id document, application file number and work permit or something.
meanwhile u shud call cic and inform them also. The email u have sent to cic is for them to have a record that u reported the issue. rep is right about it. cic takes a while to get back anways. it must be super frustrating but then that's life. we have to live with whatever it throws at our face.
