Hi everyone,

I am new on the forum. I just found it. It seems really useful & helpful.

I did wait a lot to get my residency but I finally had it a few weeks ago (about 2 weeks). Now I have to wait for my PR card, that should arrive in 3 months maximum. Do you think I can leave Canada for 1 year holiday after that? Could it become a problem while I cross the border one year later or would you recommend me to stay a little bit more in Canada?

Thanks for your help guys :D

Hey All,

What's the usual and maximum time CPC Ottawa can take for the passport return? I have a plan trip on 20th and CIC already had received my passport today. Wondering if I will be safe for 20th?

Question for Passport Delivery to Ottawa:

I have sent my passport via Xpress Post and it's tracking number say that the packet is still out for delivery. I called Canada Post's helpline and they said it's normal and my passport has been delivered but they just put it there without scanning it.

Did anyone of you have faced it before?

Mine still shows out for delivery. You?

I think you're safe. Usually takes two weeks. One of my friends got it only after one week.

This is so frustrating. July 2014 applicant with DM on the week of may 19th. My friends who applied in Sep/Oct 2014 have already got PPRs and here i am still waiting. Cic agents will also not reply. Sigh.

If you are flying, then it will be tricky. Going to US by land is fine as your COPR will be good enough for re-entry. But airlines wont accept your COPR and you wont be able to board the airline when coming back. you will be required to apply for a visa to come back. Only once you have received your PR card(2-3 months after you land), you can travel freely in and out of canada by air.

Hey guys,

I need a suggestion. CIC has received my passport on June 25, 2015, I hope I will receive it by next week. Though I've a planned trip and I am flying on July 20th. I was wondering if I can drop an email to CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca, and letting them know abut my situation so they might expedite the process.

What do you guys suggest, should I go ahead and drop an email or just wait? I have already sent them an email about Changing the VO of my spouse, just don't want to confuse them, but maybe my email will hasten the passport return process.

Suggestions?

Hey,

I am going to Europe and will do my landing from there. I think that will be safe? Once I will receive my passport, I will just wait and land directly from the airport.

What if randy is landing with the copr? Until she does the landing her temporary visa is still valid and she can board the plane?
