Has anyone here who just landed applied, or planning to apply, for NEXUS card? Eligibility requirements are 3 years, but it doesn't state if it's 3 years after PR, or 3 years in Canada total (including time spent in Canada before PR status)...anyone can help???

I guess, now I am the only applicant from May 2014 that left...

@gildeh Looking at patterns and trends, it is obvious that cic processes things in batches. So with randy and hangover, you and gyani should get it together, hopefully this week.

no, not in my case.

Is he/she inland or outland applicant?

in generell its very unlikely to be asked that, for inland applicants. Proof of settlement funds is requesred from most outland applicants.
for inland applicants, it only matters if they have applied inland, but then moved to another country. So are in fact now outland applicants. But those cases are very rare anyway.
Another thing is, if the PA is inland, but included dependeds as outland applicants.

basicly every time, someone intends to COME to canada as a permanent resident, they are required to provide proof of their settlement funds. Inland applicants are usualy looked at as already settled into the country. But they often need to provide payslips or updated work contracts and so on. To show, that the conditions are still valid.

Can anyone without USA visa, do flagpole on CAN-US border?

You don't need a US visa to flagpole.

she's inland. she's also getting her family outside canada.. so, it just normal for an inland PA to ask for proof of fund when her dependents are outland applicants.

I'll explain it again. Your friend doesn't need to show proof of sufficient settlement funds. Because she is an inland applicant. Therefore already settled in Canada. She already set up residence in Canada. If she has Outland dependents, they DO need to provide proof of settlement funds, as they are yet to establish residence in Canada. Your friend is the principal applicant. And therefore SHE is the one, required to provide that perticular proof for her dependents. Your friend employment situation and/or your friends dependents potential employement arrangement, are in no way connected to that rule
