hi guys just a quick question..
After PPR, we receive our pasports with a visa stamp and then we do the landing process - so at this point (just completed landing) can we leave canada by flight for a vacation and return? i want to leave for a much needed break as soon as landing done..i wont have the PR card, which takes 1-2 months
so this is where i have a gap in my understanding..my passport already has a visa stamp for another 10 months, multiple entry...after ppr, i will have two stamps? and both valid? also...when 'landing' is done but one doesnt have PR card, can one travel in and out from foreign country by flight?

The following link on cic will answer your questions. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=064&t=10

August-2014 Ontario PNP applicant / AOR-March 1st week
Current ecas state-DM (since friday)
havent yet received PPR but just planning for future
You can have your vacation with your immigrant visa but remember to come back to Canada before it expired. If you've done the landing and plan for vacation after that, you should wait until you get your PR card.

So finally I did my landing last Thursday... I am ainp applicant received ppr on 2 June , applied on 11th august. Got my passport back on 15 th June.
My experience was amazing. I walked to USA port of entry at 8 in morning. They checked my copr, the officer was very nice and we had a chat for about 10 minutes and then he escorted me back to Canada border. I was the first one in both poe. At Canada poe they just checked the refusal paper I got from USA side. Checked copr and passport.
Officer came back in 10 mins.
Then said the magical words " welcome to Canada."
It was an experience of a lifetime... Felt great

Thank you everyone for all the support ...hope people waiting will get there's soon...cheers.....

Congrats! Cannonbarrel. Of all the applicants who got copr, you are the winner with longest delay from application received to copr (390 days). You beat me by 5 days (1st runner up).

Thanks devpsd.
I topped the charts for something atleast :P

Congrats....where did you complete the landing?

CIC has now sent me an email instructing me to repeat medicals for the family.
The original ones are about to expire and CIC will not extend their validity.
So not only I paid more than 1000$ for nothing, this is probably going to delay the process again for a few more months until somebody bothers to look at the file again.

I realize this is not coming to a good end in the near future

Hey guys, a good news and bit concerning news, I have just got my PPR request but they have only mentioned my name, not for my spouse. I remember someone had mentioned that she will receive a separate email. Is it okay if she didn't receive the email on the same day?

Is it normal? What should I do now?

Here is the extract from the PPR mail that you obviously missed in your excitement- "We require a VALID passport for you and for each accompanying family member."

Send your passport to Ottawa with a request to change the visa office for your spouse to her country of residence.

I did the same for my dependents on Jume 17th and CIC replied today and asked us to submit the passports of my dependents in India.

All the best.

Thanks man. You've made my life easier. So only email to CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca is sufficient, or should I print out the letter's copy and send it with my passport as-well?

Once the PR visa is issued the earlier TRV is invalid. The best option is when you receive the passport with immigrant visas, go for the vacation and do the landing on your return. Just make sure that you complete the landing before the expiry date of the immigrant visa.

Thanks! Astasi..thanks for your inputs Devpsd and Gennyquan...
so as i understand, after landing but before PR card is a 'no vacation zone' :) i either take vacation without landing and come back and do landing at the airport or i stay put and do vacation after PR card....
any thoughts on doing the landing at the airport upon returning from vacation?...would you advise it?...i dont recall reading any account of anybody doing it that route so if anybody has any inputs on it, please let me know....thanks

I think that's absolutely fine. With this, you're gonna update your SIN card as-well.
