just read your experience. It is terrible that they treat people in such a way. You should have reminded them that they are there to "serve" and that is why they are called Canadian Border "Services" Agency.

All is well that ends well.
I will write my experience in a new post.

Just landed yesterday.
My days were frustrating since this application started and the landing was a nightmare. May be a poetic justice, but those guys made me realise that I m not welcome here. 4 hours of waiting at the immigration office. And there were just 4 people ahead of me all the time. They had to wait 6-7 hours for landing. The officers treated us as if we were illegal immigrants coming by boat from a war torn zone. They were having coffee, chatting, gossiping, laughing while they made old women, children wait.
An officer told us that we were the last priority for them. We volunteered to flagpole so it is not their problem at all. We should have done inland. Guess they are not on the same page with cic and the letter.
One girl was complaining because she waited for 5 hours, they returned her docs and wished her good luck and land in cic office. She had to beg to take her doc back and process it.
One needs to work hard to be so unprofessional, inefficient and down right crass. After spending 1000s of dollars we are lowest priority for them. They treated people like cattle. The entire PR process was the worst customer service I have experienced in my life. One good thing out of this is that next time I travel to my country of origin I will be less critical of its bureaucracies and processes.
My friend went with family for landing today and he was refused. Asked to do inland.
Not sure if I should be proud of becoming PR or ashamed of being an immigrant.

I landed yesterday at the Rainbowbridge border.
Earlier I traveled to Buffalo to meet a friend and returned at 7PM (exact time) at the border.
The border security officer (a female trash officer I'd say) was very rude to talk and gave a yellow receipt that I had to carry and directed me to the CBSA office.

The guard at the door told me upfront that the wait might be 2-3 hours. I was not surprised as I knew I was travelling during peak hours.
However I was done by 8.15PM. Despite an hour long waiting, the officer who signed my COPR was pretty courteous and welcomed me as a new immigrant.
Hurray 8.20PM I was at the falls taking pictures followed by dinner and drink.

Congrats cannonbarrel. When did you receive the passport from Ottawa after visa stamping?

@ cannonbarrel: well its good u had a better landing. It seems they process landing after 8pm. Better to go late. cic should give that tip in the letter.

@ Terryhangover: Well, i didnt go to buffalo because i needed to give a valid reason why i m going to US. And i dont have a car, my friend drove me. Pls dont worry yourself by my experience. it was a one of incident.

People with Additional Document Request:

Can anyone confirm if we can see Additional Documents request on ECAS? One of CIC agent has told me to check Additional Docs request on ECAS, if I have missed any email. Just wanted to know if you guys have observed it too.

My friend who had a long wait due to complexity got email from cic when his rep did not send requested documents. but then he had set up a way that all emails to his rep concerning his application were copied to him too. i think u r over thinking which is perfectly justified because of the delay. They will ask you if they need docs. it is probably a delay because of dependents visa office.

To Rand.Orton: I agree with devpsd. Let me even go beyond it. My dependent is also inland and our timeline is delayed even more than yours (I got IP on June 11!).
I totally understand how bad this waiting is (our application was file on May 28, 2014!), but I guess we need to be patient at the moment. Let's put this on the side and do not over-think about it. As devpsd said, they will inform us if they need any docs or other things. It is only the matter of time that we can not really do anything about that. Lets focus on life ;)

Cheers

My friend was asked to submit a proof of
Fund for her application. Should a copy of notice of assessment is enough as a proof? It says there income tax return copy.

Hey Congrats on the landing. You are done! Just forget about all the bad/annoying experiences of this PR process. Now you dont have deal with CIC for another 4 years at least.

Thanks devpsd and gildeh. I will try my best to get sidetracked and focus on other things in life ;)

Congrats! Cannonbarrel. Of all the applicants who got copr, you are the winner with longest delay from application received to copr (390 days). You beat me by 5 days (1st runner up).

hi guys just a quick question..
After PPR, we receive our pasports with a visa stamp and then we do the landing process - so at this point (just completed landing) can we leave canada by flight for a vacation and return? i want to leave for a much needed break as soon as landing done..i wont have the PR card, which takes 1-2 months

so this is where i have a gap in my understanding..my passport already has a visa stamp for another 10 months, multiple entry...after ppr, i will have two stamps? and both valid? also...when 'landing' is done but one doesnt have PR card, can one travel in and out from foreign country by flight?

August-2014 Ontario PNP applicant / AOR-March 1st week
Current ecas state-DM (since friday)
havent yet received PPR but just planning for future

Once the PR visa is issued the earlier TRV is invalid. The best option is when you receive the passport with immigrant visas, go for the vacation and do the landing on your return. Just make sure that you complete the landing before the expiry date of the immigrant visa.
