Hope u r right.

I only see ugly rumors reinforced and the good ones ignored. :)

I know! :) This rumour comes from reliable sources so I am trusting it! Also, it sounds like CIC is shocked that word got out that the QA process is happening.

Well we are shocked even more by the delay....

GCMS mentions QA... they ought to know.

My entire process with OPNP has been a major headache. I, for one, am not shocked they are doing the QA... When I heard about that I was like "of course they are" because that's just how OPNP has been for me since I started the process.

Had I waited to be eligible for CEC, I would probably be close to getting PR by now :(

Hello OPNP applicants,

Can one travel outside Canada when the PR application is in process? Is it ok to travel for 2-3 weeks, and also is it necessary to inform both PNP and CIC offices about the travel plans?

You can definitely travel outside of Canada as long as you have a valid work permit and, if you're from a country that needs one, a Temporary Resident Visa. I think that there would be no harm in informing CIC that you're planning to travel for 2-3 weeks in case they need to contact you for anything. OPNP does not need to know, I think...

What is the source of the rumour?

I am so frustrated with it. Shouldnt have applied under international student with job offer category. Unable to move jobs and have lost some very good opportunities.
Does anyone know if it is possible to change application type once you get AOR or does it have to be a new application? I am eligible to apply under other application categories such CEC, Family Sponsorship, FSW etc.

Do they ever check if I leave my current job and accept a new one?

Rumour has it that the QA process on the Ontario PNP is coming to an end, and that the backlog on Ontario PNP PR applications will start getting cleared soon.

Wish this is true!

Thank you sammir for the advice.

But if I leave my Pr application without informing them , and what if they check and find that I am not staying in Ontario?

Posted on Ontario pnp: Once you become a permanent resident, you can live and work anywhere in Canada. If you leave your current employer during either the nomination process or the permanent residence application process, your nomination and application can be denied by Opportunities Ontario. Prolonged absences from Ontario can also affect your eligibility for the program. You should keep Opportunities Ontario informed.

My 5 cents: This can have a negative impact on future applications from Alberta or citizenship because you may be flagged for misrepresentation. Play safe

hi deepdeep,
when is your work permit expiring? you think i can apply even before 4 months expiration?
hey dont apply 4 months before. you will get work permit for only 1 year. so apply 1 month before you work permit expires ad do paper application (process time for paper application is approx. 55 days) so like 2 months. you will get work permit for long time. use you full time on current work permit ok.
good luck and take it easy :)

when is this QA goin to end. any idea friends

I dont think it has anything got to do with QA. Mere speculations and baseless rumors fuelled by panic stricken, frustrated applicants. QA of some applications cannot delay entire pool of applications. If it is resource constraint then it should affect other provinces. CIC says that QA happens regularly for some random applications. Nothing unusual but such delay is. Some GCMS notes said QA, OPNP used it as the only excuse to shut us up.

My GCMS didnt mention any QA (it was recently delivered). What could it be though? Why are only Ontario applicants stuck?

Thats the point. OPNP told me some QA in progress, however they dont know if my file is. So obviously QA is only for some. That cannot delay ALL. It is not a slow process nor it is as if aor trickling in... its just stopped for applications from mid may. what has QA got to do with sending an AOR? I understand delay in process but delay in aor... pfffffff....

The concern is that why only Ontario applications? :(
